BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County man pronounced dead after being rescued from the ocean near the Boynton Beach Inlet on Sunday has been identified. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says the deceased man is 34-year-old Maximillian Sadowski of Lake Worth. Records reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com suggest that he was a local laborer.
As we reported on Sunday, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue staged a major operation to pull Sadowski from the water after he was found face down around 10:30 a.m. Witnesses tell BocaNewsNow.com that he had been flapping in the water — seemingly in need of help — before he stopped moving. It was not immediately clear what, if any, medical condition he suffered from that may have contributed to his death.
This is the official information provided by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office: “At 10:32 AM on November 3, 2024, the Manalapan Police Department received a 911 call from a beachgoer reporting a swimmer in distress near the Boynton Inlet, approximately 1/4 mile north of a non-lifeguard protected area.
Security officers and medics from a nearby estate rescued the male from the rough surf and rip currents, administering CPR until the Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived. The male swimmer was transported to Bethesda East Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 AM by the emergency room staff. His identity was unknown at the time. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.”
