5:39 A.M. WEDNESDAY: Here are the final results for elections in Palm Beach County.
9:16 P.M: The amendment that would have limited government interference with abortion in the State of Florida has FAILED. It received support from 57 percent of voters, but Florida law requires 60 percent for a constitutional amendment to pass.
9:06 P.M: The amendment that would have legalized marijuana in Florida has FAILED. A constitutional amendment in Florida needs 60 percent of the votes. Amendment 3 will finish the night with around 55-percent support.
8:55 P.M: The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections is holding at 760 of 799 precincts. We’ll update when there’s something new to update.
8:29 P.M: Just kidding on the Jared Moskowitz reporting. The areas outside of Palm Beach County had not been included in the early numbers. He is LEADING Joe Kaufman in ALL precincts that are included in the 23rd Congressional District (PBC and Broward). 193,076 (52.4 percent) to 175,408 (47.6 percent).
8:19 P.M: It appears Jared Moskowitz’s career in Congress may be coming to an end. With 760 of 799 precincts reporting in Palm Beach County, Joe Kaufman, a Republican leads Moskowitz, a Democrat, 56,424 (52.91 percent) to 50.213 (47.09 percent).
8:06 P.M: We have our first statewide results. Polls closed statewide at 8 p.m. Donald Trump is projected to win the state of Florida, as expected. The amendments are also notable at this point. 55-percent of voters statewide so far want marijuana to be legalized. An amendment MUST have 60 percent of the vote to pass. On the issue of abortion: 58-percent of voters in the state say government should be limited in interfering with abortion rights. Again, 60-percent is needed to pass. Vote counting continues.
7:48 P.M: We’re awaiting the next wave of precincts but here’s a look at other races. With 491 precincts of 798 reporting: Palm Beach County residents are so far voting FOR the right to LIMIT government interference when it comes to abortions. (65.85 percent voting YES for Constitutional Amendment #4, 34.15 percent against) Palm Beach County residents are also voting FOR the right to use marijuana. That’s amendment #3. 58.33 percent of PBC residents want the right to use marijuana. 40.67 percent of voters in PBC say that right should not be enshrined in the state constitution.
7:39 P.M: Now we’re getting real numbers. With 491 of 799 precincts reporting in Palm Beach County, Kamala Harris leads with 339,306 (50.16 percent). Donald Trump has 329,321 votes (48.69 percent). Debbie Murcasel-Powell leads Sen. Rick Scott, 50.48 percent to 48.28 percent.
7:35 P.M. ZERO Precincts have been reported so far in Palm Beach County. We’ll update with local numbers from today as soon as they are received. We remind you that statewide results will not be available until after 8 p.m. as Florida sits in two time zones.
7:19 P.M: Kamala Harris beat Donald Trump during EARLY VOTING in Palm Beach County. This includes early voting in person and also by mail. 296,078 Palm Beach County voters voted for Harris in early voting. 267,778 voted for Donald Trump. That’s 51.97 percent vs. 47 percent. We also note U.S. Senator Rick Scott received 261,502 votes during early voting, while Debbi Mucarsel-Powell received 292,034.
