DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We don’t know what’s in the water in Kings Point Delray Beach, but it seems some are skipping the water altogether and just heading for the bottle. That’s the allegation made by police in Delray Beach who arrested Kings Point resident Gerald Fitzgerald late Friday night. He’s in the Palm Beach County Jail Saturday morning.

Fitzgerald, who becomes the 27th Kings Point Delray Beach resident arrested during 2024, and the 47th since the start of 2023, is charged with DUI and cited for several motor vehicle violations. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 12:06 Saturday. Bond is set at $1,000. Unofficial records kept by BocaNewsNow.com suggest that more Kings Point Delray Beach residents go to jail than residents from any other senior living community in South Palm Beach County.

While the arrest report continues to be processed early Saturday, citations reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com allege that Fitzgerald “failed to drive within a single lane” and was stopped in the area of Linton Boulevard and Congress Avenue. During the stop, police believed that he was driving under the influence. He allegedly provided a breath sample that registered above .15. The legal limit in Florida is .08. Police also cited him for a motor vehicle registration violation.

  1. Population of King’s Point, 7000 people, 3800 families or couples. Compare that with say Highland Beach, FL with 4000 some people and a town that has its own private library for the town ‘s people. King’s Point is a SMALL CITY and POOR. Maybe KP needs its own police precinct.
