A person was struck and killed by a train in North Broward early Friday.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A fatal train incident is under investigation early Friday in north Broward, according a statement issued to BocaNewsNow.com by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

“Shortly before 5 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to a train versus pedestrian crash near Southwest 12th Avenue and Southwest Third Street in Pompano Beach.

On scene, emergency crews located the pedestrian who was struck by the train, and the individual was pronounced deceased. Detectives with BSO Crime Scene and Homicide Units were notified to investigate.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.”
