BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you’re looking for a reason to wear your completely geographically inappropriate scarf and boots, Thursday may be the night. Temperatures across South Florida could drop into the upper 40s as a cold front moves through the area.

For normal people, the upper 40s will feel great and be a time to rejoice that the extremely hot weather has moved on. But for New Yorkers in Boca and Delray — as we see every year — it will likely be the first round of the annual (unofficial) Burberry contest. For new readers, it’s the time of year that we ask for photos of people wearing Burberry scarfs and boots as they — acting like a blizzard is heading to Long Island — walk gingerly on the non-existent ice while simultaneously calling friends and family stuck in Great Neck to complain that, “it’s sooooooooooooo collllllllddddddddddddd!”

The BocaNewsNow.com forecast is calling for a low tonight in the low 70s. Then the fun starts. The high on Thursday should reach the mid-70s, with a low Thursday night in the upper 40s. Friday will be cooler with a high only of 70 degrees.

Expect the coolness to continue Friday night with a low around 50. The high on Saturday will again only hit 70 degrees (or so).
