BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Coconut Creek man is dead several days after a crash on U.S. 441 in West Boca Raton. The crash, near the Target Shopping Center, occurred on November 7th. The victim died on Wednesday of this week. Here’s the official narrative from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office:
“Vehicle One, a 2024 Kia Seltos driven by John Evelyn of Coconut Creek, was traveling northbound on State Rd 7/US 441 in the left turn lane to turn into the plaza at 21755 S State Rd 7. Vehicle Two, a 2021 Toyota Tacoma driven by a Boca Raton man, was traveling southbound on State Rd 7/US 441 in the outside lane approaching the entrance to the plaza.
Vehicle One made a left turn into the path of Vehicle Two. The passenger’s front corner of Vehicle One impacted the front of Vehicle Two. Vehicle Two was redirected southwest and came to rest on the south shoulder of the plaza entrance. Vehicle One rotated counterclockwise. Vehicle One then began to roll backwards in a southwest direction. Vehicle One came to final rest in the ditch on the west side of State Rd 7/US 441 south of the entrance to the plaza.
The occupants of Vehicle One were Transported to Delray Medical Center. Driver John Evelyn died on Wednesday, November 20th. His passenger, Nancy Evelyn, remains in serious condition. The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.”
