UPDATE: At 3:40 p.m., the scene is clear but traffic remains extremely heavy — and slow — in the area.
DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major crash on I-95 Southbound around 2:15 p.m. is backing up traffic well into Boynton and beyond. The crash, near the Atlantic Avenue exit, appears to involve multiple cars based on images from Florida Department of Transportation cameras in the area monitored by BocaNewsNow.com.
As of 2:40 p.m., multiple fire rescue units are on the scene, as well as police. It appears traffic may be moving — although quite slowly — in the paid express lanes. Traffic in the main lanes is pretty much at a standstill. We have no information regarding injuries or whether anyone was killed.
Your best bet through the foreseeable future is to exit I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard or before, head south on Military Trail or Powerline/Jog, then rejoin I-95 south of Atlantic (perhaps Linton or Glades). Your travel should be clear after the crash scene. The Florida Turnpike also appears to be in good shape early Sunday afternoon.
Check back for updates.

95 is very treacherous, little to no speed enforcement as you hardly ever see troopers with cars going 100mph
