According to detectives, around 8:32 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, the driver of a 2020 Nissan Altima, Lezaria Williams, was traveling northbound near the 1300 block of South Powerline Road in Pompano Beach. At the same time, the driver of a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle, Ruben Osorio, was also traveling northbound on South Powerline Road.
According to detectives, Osorio and another motorcyclist were traveling at a high rate of speed as they approached the Altima. Osorio applied his brakes and lost control of the motorcycle, which caused the motorcycle to fall onto its side and slide across the roadway. The motorcycle struck the rear of the Altima. Osorio came to final rest in the dedicated left turn lane. Williams remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded and transported Osorio to Broward Health North where he was later pronounced deceased. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
