Advanced Wrong-Way Driving Safety Improvements Project in Broward and Palm Beach County Description: Installing flashing beacons, wrong-way signage, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices at 23 exit ramps to enhance safety by detecting wrong-way drivers and preventing serious injury crashes on the State Highway System; integrating the wrong-way driving detecting system/ITS with the Regional Transportation Management Center (RTMC) to aid in alerting motorists and notifying law enforcement; and upgrading wrong-way signage and pavement markings to preserve the service life of the road and enhance visibility. Ramps Impacts: Shoulder Closure Notice: The SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramp shoulders to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) will be closed daily, as needed, 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. o Additional Closures: One lane of Tuxedo Avenue will be closed 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday, December 16 and Tuesday, December 17 for conduit installation.
§ Flaggers will be on-site to assist with traffic.
§ Access to the Palm Beach International Airport will be maintained.
o Additional Closure: One lane of Service Alley Road will be closed 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Wednesday, December 18 for conduit installation.
