BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A young woman believed to be a local college student is facing two felony charges after Boca Raton Police conducted a “Bar Check” at O’Brian’s, located at 51 SE 1st Avenue. That check allegedly revealed that Madison Recore is 20-years-old, even though she had a North Carolina license that claimed she was 21.

Underage drinking and using a fake ID are both big deals in South Florida. She was arrested and charged with two felonies. Here’s the arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com:

“On December 16, 2024, at approximately 0000 hours, I was conducting bar checks at O’Brians, located at 51 SE 1st Ave, when I observed a female who I believed to be under the age of 21, holding a “Highnoon” alcoholic beverage. The young female was later identified as Madison Recore. I spoke with Recore outside the bar and asked her to present her driver license to prove she was of drinking age.

Recore presented me with a North Carolina Driver License, which I had BRPD Dispatch check. It should be noted that the DOB on the North Carolina Driver License showed 3/8/2002. Recore was found clear in NCIC/FCIC, but BRPD Dispatch advised she had a valid Florida Driver License, which showed her DOB to be 3/8/2004. I then read Recore her Miranda Rights off of a BRPD issued Miranda Warnings card. Recore stated she understood her rights.

I asked Recore what the beverage was that I observed her drinking, and she stated it was a High Noon alcoholic beverage. I then asked Recore where she got the North Carolina License, and she stated it was a fake she bought online. I then asked Recore how old she really was and she stated she was 20 years old. Upon conclusion of my investigation, I developed probable cause to arrest Madison Recore for possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under 21 (FSS 562.111(1)) and unauthorized possession of a driver license (FSS 322.212 (1C).

I then placed Madison in handcuffs which were double locked and checked for tightness. Officer Coon responded to conduct a search. I then placed Recore in the back of my patrol car and transported har to BRPD booking. Recore was later transported to Palm Beach County Jail. Recore’s fake North Carolina Driver License was later properly classified into BRPD evidence. No further involvement.”

Recore was initially set at more than $5,000 but court records suggest that a judge decided that was over the top and permitted Recore to be released on her own recognizance. A court date is pending.

  1. and this is why you never talk to cops, especially when you are in possession of a fake id and underage drinking. clearly talking to the officer did absolutely nothing to help her

    1. I’m not surprised someone would try and blame police given the pervasiveness of people unable to take responsibility for their actions. Based on the article, the officer did his or her job well. Thank you BRPD for your service to the community. Hopefully the young criminal and her friends will now understand that a felony is a serious crime.

    1. I did nothing to destroy her future and neither did the cop. SHE chose to hand the cop a fake id instead of just taking the lump for underage drinking which would not destroy her future. Instead you accuse the cop and me of ruining her future?

      1. BocaNewsNow.com jumping in here: Underage drinking is illegal. Using a fake ID is illegal. Blaming other people for the commission of an alleged crime is a path to nowhere. Had there been a crash, the bar could have potentially been sued for serving someone with a fake ID, but that might take extensive litigation and go nowhere. As we say all the time: if you don’t want your arrest to be reported, don’t get arrested. If you don’t want to get arrested, don’t do something that might lead a police officer to think that there could be grounds to take you into custody.

  2. Double handcuffed a 20 year old, arrested her, put her in a squad car, and charged her with two felonies for having an alcoholic drink! Don’t the Boca Raton police have better things to do?
