BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Helping Hands is getting a helping hand, in the form of a truck, that will be used to deliver donations across the region. The truck comes just in time for the holiday donation season, and is courtesy of a major area donor. Boca Help Hands shared this announcement with BocaNewsNow.com:

Boca Helping Hands is unveiling a a new truck, donated by Christine E. Lynn and Gerstner Philanthropies that will enable the organization to deliver more food to five different locations across Palm Beach County and better serve people in need. With the new truck, Boca Helping Hands will increase the food it distributes from 3.8 million pounds to an estimated five million pounds.

The truck will be unveiled and loaded with food on Thursday, December 19 at 2 p.m. at Boca Helping Hands, 1500 N.W. 1st Court, Boca Raton. The truck will be loaded for the first time with a delivery of boxes for underserved public-school students so they will have enough food over the weekend. Many local kids often go hungry over the weekend as they get most of their meals at school.

Last year, Boca Helping Hands distributed more than 114,000 pantry bags full of groceries to five locations in East Boca, West Boca, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach and Lake Worth. With the new truck, Boca Helping Hands will be able to distribute even more pantry bags.

“We are so grateful to Christine Lynn and Gerstner Philanthropies for their generosity in making it possible for us to purchase a new truck to serve even more people,” said Greg Hazle, Executive Director of Boca Helping Hands.” To learn more, visit bocahelpinghands.org
