BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man identified as a Yard House restaurant employee was stopped for speeding on Palmetto Park Road, then arrested for driving under the influence. Kamil Lozinski of Boca Colony Drive was jailed Saturday night. He was eventually released on $1,000 bond. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the arrest report filed by the Boca Raton Police Department:

“On 12/14/2024, at approximately 0316 hours, while I was traveling westbound on W. Palmetto Park Rd passing the 1200 block when I observed a black sedan, later determined to be a black 2011 Volkswagen Jetta bearing FL tag “PIXE,” and a black Mazda, later determined to be a black 2017 Mazda Mazda3, rapidly accelerating well beyond the posted 40 miles per hour (mph) speed limit. I paced both vehicles, which were driving side by side, at approximately 80 mph traveling westbound on W. Palmetto Park Rd.

I initiated a traffic stop on both vehicles by activating the lights and siren on my BRPD-marked patrol vehicle just west of Military Trl on W. Palmetto Park Rd. Upon approaching the passenger side of the Volkswagen and making contact with the driver, later identified as Kamil Lozinski, who was the sole occupant of his vehicle, I immediately smelled the very distinct and strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. I also noticed Kamil’s speech was slow and slurred, and his eyes were watery and glassy.

Kamil stated he was coming from downtown Boca Raton, and admitted to consuming a “beer,” at “Fat Cats,” prior to driving. Based on the above information, I requested Kamil to participate in field sobriety exercises to dispel my suspicion that he may be driving while impaired, to which he agreed. It should also be noted that while speaking with Kamil outside of his vehicle, I continued to smell the very distinct and strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his person.”

Lozinski, according to the report, had issues completing the field sobriety exercises. Lozinski’s girlfriend, riding in the second vehicle that was stopped, then allegedly tells police that Lozinski had been drinking.

“The passenger of the black Mazda, identified as Kyra Aamold, who is Kamil’s girlfriend, advised that Kamil met her and her friend, identified as Abigale Beidler, who is the driver of the black Mazda, (went to) the Fat Cats bar after his shift at Yard House. Kyra relayed that Kamil had a beer and a “Whiskey drink.” Kyra also relayed that the group went to The Standard bar after leaving Fat Cats.

Based on my investigation, I reasonably determined that Kamil was driving while impaired, and as a result, I placed him under arrest and charged him with one count of DUI FSS 316.193(1A). I transported the defendant to the BRPD BAT room. Officer Madotta conducted the 20-minute observation and operated the Intoxilyzer. I asked the defendant to provide a lawful sample of his breath to determine its alcohol content to which he agreed. (The) results were .103 and .106. The defendant was subsequently transported to the Palm Beach County Jail without further incident.”

Kamil Lozinski was booked into jail at 7:21 a.m. on December 14, 2024. He was released on $1,000 bond at 9:40 p.m. that evening after spending more than fourteen hours in lockup.
