The Delray Beach Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred December 23, 2024, at 11:51 AM, at the Bi-Lo Market, located at 24 NW 8th Ave. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as 30-year-old Timmy Hayes, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary findings suggest that this was a targeted attack, and there is no ongoing threat to the community. The suspect, described as an unknown male, fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The Police Department has obtained surveillance images of the suspect and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.
