
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A massive fire in the Lauderdale Marina late Monday left left one person dead and six injured. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, the United States Coast Guard, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and other agencies all responded to 1900 SE 15th Street in Fort Lauderdale for the blaze.
“FLFR extinguishing two fires after a boat exploded at the Lauderdale Marina. A total of six people injured. We transported five to area hospitals, three with traumatic injuries. The sixth was missing in the water and located by BSO after a lengthy search, deceased unfortunately.”
The cause of the fires remain under investigation. It was unknown Tuesday morning if investigators initially believe this to be arson, or some sort of failure that led to one fire which eventually ignited a second. The victims have not been identified.
