SWA is making it simple this year to get rid of your Christmas Tree/Hanukkah Bush/whatever celebratory fern you have in your home. Palm Beach County Solid Waste Authority shared this with BocaNewsNow.com:
“Residents of unincorporated Palm Beach County can place their live holiday trees curbside on their regular yard waste collection day. Holiday trees up to eight feet long and weighing less than 50 pounds can be placed at the curb as-is, while trees larger than eight feet long should be cut in half. Remember to remove all decorations, lights and tinsel before placing your tree at the curb.
Artificial trees should be placed into your garbage cart or curbside as one of your three bulk items on your bulk collection day. Please note that unincorporated residents who live in a multi-family community with dumpster service should contact their homeowner’s association or property management company directly for disposal procedures.
Single-family home residents who live in one of Palm Beach County’s 39 municipalities should contact their municipality directly for its holiday tree collection procedures. A list of municipal contacts can be found online. People buy a tree and decorate in November, and while there are twelve days of Christmas, they throw out the tree and take down lights in a matter of days after Christmas Days? I will never understand this.
The 12 days of may not be observed much anymore. I can’t remember the last time I saw a lord a leapin, partridges are extinct and pear trees have citrus blight
