BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District is boasting about its 95.9 percent graduation rate. Just two schools in Boca Raton reported a 100-percent graduation rate during the last school year, meaning several other schools have work to do. While 95.9 percent is certainly good news, it could be better, as some are asking why high schools in the area are not graduating all students.

Here’s the official announcement from the Palm Beach County School District as transmitted to BocaNewsNow.com:

The graduation rate for Palm Beach County schools leads Florida’s largest seven school districts and exceeds the state average, according to new data released by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). The 2024 graduation rate, including District-operated and charter schools, increased from 90.5% to 92.1% overall. The graduation rate for District-operated schools increased from 94.1% to 95.9%. Over a five year period, the graduation rate for District-operated schools increased by 1.5%.

“With another boost this year in our high school graduation rates, Palm Beach County schools continue to demonstrate that we are ‘Your Best Choice’ for education in our community,” Superintendent Michael Burke said. “The increase in our graduation rate is a result of a collective effort – from our dedicated members of Team Palm Beach to our engaged students, families, and community partners. We are proud of the Class of 2024 and know that our graduates’ futures are bright.”
