A woman is dead following a fire in Deerfield Beach.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An early morning blaze in Deerfield Beach left a woman dead. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating. The Broward Sheriff’s Office, which first responded to the call, issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:

At approximately 4:34 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a residential fire at a duplex located near the 4300 block of Fourth Avenue in Deerfield Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded.

On scene, firefighters and deputies found the duplex engulfed in flames. Firefighters fought the residential fire until they extinguished the flames. Sadly, they found a woman deceased inside the duplex.

BSO’s Homicide Unit and Crime Scene detectives responded to the scene and are currently conducting a death investigation. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal.
