
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — No one was injured, according to police, in a Tuesday night armed robbery in a Boca Raton Walgreens. The gunman allegedly brandished a semi-automatic firearm. It happened int he 1000 block of SW 2nd Avenue around 11 p.m. That’s when police say the unknown male suspect entered the store and approached a cashier. The suspect then fled with the register tray.
The suspect is described as a black male with average build and approximately 5’5″ to 5’6″ in height. It’s believed he in his mid-20s. The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray jeans, black shoes, and a black mask and gloves. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Terrance Payne at 561-620-6221.
There is no information regarding direction of travel.
We note that the Boca Raton Police Department waited nearly 16 hours to release information regarding an armed gunman and when it did so, it posted solely to social media. It did not utilize the City of Boca Raton’s text-alert system, nor did the department utilize its email notification system for media.
UPDATE at 4:10 p.m. — The City just transmitted a news advisory via email, but has not transmitted its text alert.

It just goes to show you that living in Boca Raton Fl does not keep you from violent crime. It is just a miracle that no one got injured.
