DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man claims he was critically injured while invited onto property at the Kings Point Delray Beach senior living facility that is maintained by Kings Point Recreation Corporation, Inc. Kings Point is now being sued for more than $50,000, according to documents filed with the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.

Carlo Laude, according to the legal complaint, was an invited guest at Kings Point in the area of 140-143 Normandy Lane in Delray Beach. While in that specific area, Laude allegedly tripped and fell due to a hole in the ground. An attorney for Laude says Kings Point should have known the hole was there and either filled it in, or at the very least mitigated potential danger by posting a sign. Kings Point Recreation Corporation allegedly did nothing.

From the suit: “(The) Defendant knew, or should have been aware, that there was a hole dug within the premises. That Plaintiff (Carlo Laude) was unaware (of the hole). That as Plaintiff was traversing the premises, he came upon the condition as noted That Plaintiff, without knowledge of the condition as noted, tripped and fell. That as a result of falling, Plaintiff sustained serious bodily injuries.”

Using somewhat boilerplate language, Laude’s injuries are described in the complaint: “That as a direct and proximate result of the negligence of Defendant, KINGS POINT RECREATION CORPORATION, INC., the Plaintiff, CARLO LAUDE, was injured in and about his body and extremities and/or aggravated a pre-existing condition; suffered pain therefrom; suffered physical handicap; suffered disfigurement; suffered mental pain and suffering; suffered loss of income in the past and will do so in the future; suffered loss for the capacity for the enjoyment of life and or incured medical expenses for the care and treatment of his injuries. Said injuries are permanent and are continuing in nature, and the Plaintiff will continue to suffer these losses and impairments in the future.”

Kings Point has not responded to the suit through a filing processed by the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts as of Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Laude is represented by Attorney Michael Wallace of the Law Office of Michael Wallace, P.A. Read the complete lawsuit, below.
