
BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach resident is dead following a car versus bicycle crash on Military Trail near Le Chalet in Boynton Beach, according to investigators with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The victim, identified as Jose De Liz of Palm Gate Drive, died around 10 a.m. today. The crash occurred on Saturday.
According to PBOS, a Lake Worth resident was driving a 2004 Silverado northbound on Military Trail in the outside lane approaching the intersection with Le Chalet Boulevard. De Liz, on a bicycle, was traveling eastbound in the crosswalk crossing Military Trail. The Chevy Silverado had a green light, but De Liz rode into the path of the Silverado.
The Silverado impacted the bicycle, according to police, with De Liz being ejected onto the roadway. The driver of the Silverado came to a complete stop.
De Liz sustained serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to Delray Medical Center where he was treated but died on Tuesday. No charges have been filed. There is no indication that the driver the Chevy Silverado did anything wrong. Jose Paulo De Liz was born on December 5th, 1960, and lived in the 8200 block of Palm Gate Drive in Boynton Beach.
