Devante Moss will not face the death penalty if he is convicted of murder in Boca Raton.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The man accused of killing two people and injuring a third during a triple shooting in an extended stay motel on Ocean Boulevard will not face the death penalty. Prosecutors filed paperwork informing Devante Moss that he will not face death as punishment for the double murder. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the official notification.

As we were first to report following the September homicides, Moss is accused of the slayings allegelyed related to drugs, theft, and prostitution. This are key sections from he arrest report:


>>On 09/20/2024, at approximately 1653 hours, Boca Raton Police Department Dispatch received multiple 911 calls regarding a shooting with multiple victims (Boca Raton Police Department case #2024-011046) which occurred in the parking lot at 365 N. Ocean Blvd. Boca Raton, FL 33432. Upon officers’ arrival on scene, three victims were located in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds! The Boca Raton Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced victim w/F Chandler Dill (DOB: 08/15/92) and W/M Christopher Liszak (DOB: 06/28/75) deceased on scene. Victim, W/M Tuan Duy Hoang Ho (DOB: 09/17/83) was transported as a trauma patient to Delay Medical Center for medical treatment due to multiple gunshot wounds.<<

>>At approximately 1651 hours, the door to hotel room 101 opens outward. Moss exited the room holding a black purse with both hands and ran south along the cement paver walkway towards the parking lot. Dill exited the same door immediately behind Moss and chased after him. She was nude from the waist down. As Moss attempted to open the driver door of a silver Jaguar sedan he and Dill got into a physical altercation. Ho approached the Jaguar from the north and attempted to assist Dill. Moss was unable to shut the driver. door to the Jaguar due to the persistence of Dill. Moss exited the Jaguar driver door, stepped around to the rear of the vehicle while Dill was pulling on his shirt, he opened the rear passenger door and removed a small item from the back seat. Moss returned to the front driver door of the Jaguar with Dill still struggling with him. Ho observed Moss briefly and backs away. Ho runs to a black truck nearby and retrieves what appeared to be a gun. Liszak exited room 102 and slowly walked toward the Jaguar and attempted to intervene in the altercation at the driver door. Ho approached the front passenger window. He pulled on the exterior door handle. Ho was holding a small bag as he opened the door and engaged Moss’s attention across the vehicle interior.<<

>>Ho quickly moved away from the open passenger front door and takes cover at the passenger side rear of the Jaguar. Moss exited the driver door and stood outside the vehicle. Moss raised a dark colored pistol with both hands and immediately discharged the firearm at Ho, who was at the rear passenger side of the vehicle. He then discharges the firearm striking both Dill and Liszak at close range. Dill stumbled and fell to the ground behind the Jaguar. Liszak fell to the ground west of the Jaguar. Ho ducked along the passenger side of the Jaguar for cover as he moved north and east back toward the hotel. Moss pointed the firearm towards Ho over the roof of the Jaguar and shoots at him once. Ho fell to the ground and attempted to crawl towards the hotel. He stopped behind the hedge in front of room 102 in a seated position facing south. Moss ran across the parking lot to Ho’s location, and made direct contact with him. As Ho was in a seated position on the ground with his empty hands raised above him Moss stood over Ho and discharged the firearm at him. Moss then reached down and picked up what appeared to be a red cellular phone that was on the ground near Ho’s feet. He then ran back to the Jaguar, got into the vehicle, and fled the scene.<<

The State of Florida will not seek the death penalty if Devante Moss is convicted of murder following a double homicide in Boca Raton.

Devante Moss, who was living in Boynton Beach at the time, fled to Georgia after the homicides. He was arrested there and extradited back to Palm Beach County where he’s been held in the Palm Beach County Jail ever since. A trial date has not been set. Read our previous coverage here.

  1. insane how Luigi is facing the death penalty for murdering a single CEO but this dude killed my cousin and 2 others and just gets a cushy state paid prison sentence for his life.
