UPDATE: Two Dead.
BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The early morning Amber Alert issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office for a kidnapping involving a child, a mother, and an alleged kidnapping suspect is now over — but a double murder investigation is underway. We are publishing the official advisories from BSO, in chronological order, below:
ORIGINAL ALERT: At approximately 6:02 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a shooting in the 5700 block of Plum Bay Parkway in Tamarac. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded. On scene, deputies located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him deceased on scene. As part of the investigation, it was learned that a four-year-old child, Seraphina Gingles, was taken from the residence. A statewide Amber Alert has been issued for Seraphina. She is believed to have been taken by Nathan Gingles, 43, in a 2016 silver BMW X3 with Texas tag 5DV2950 that was last seen heading eastbound on West Commercial Boulevard in Tamarac after 6a.m. It is possible that Seraphina’s mother, Mary Catherine Gingles, 34, is also with them. Both Serafina and Mary Catherine are believed to be endangered. If located, DO NOT APPROACH, contact 911 or 954-764-HELP (4357). BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units are on scene conducting a death investigation. Multiple BSO resources are involved in trying to locate the missing individuals.
UPDATE (11:45 a.m. Sunday, February 16, 2025): Seraphina Gingles and Nathan Gingles have been located. Shortly before 11 a.m. this morning, Broward Sheriff’s Office V. I. P. E. R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) deputies located the 2016 silver BMW X3 involved in this incident. The vehicle was located at 7900 West McNab Road in North Lauderdale. At this time, the investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
UPDATE (4:30 p.m) — Mary Catherine Gingles, 12/22/1990, was located suffering from a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased inside a home in the 5800 block of Plum Bay Parkway in Tamarac. BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units are investigating her death. Nathan Gingles has been arrested on a charge of violating an injunction regarding no contact with the child and her mother.
