DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Yes, it is rude to have your dog sniff a customer in a restaurant, but no, it’s not really rude to have a bird on your head unless that bird is on your head while you shop inside a store. Welcome to Boca Rudeton for Sunday, February 23, 2025. We paws (get it?) to look back at a week full of rude people bringing their pets where they don’t belong and drivers who feel entitled to park anywhere they’d like. Let’s get going with a woman with a bird on her head:

At “The Boys” in Delray Beach, our tipster says this woman “did a complete shop” inside with the green bird on her head. Let’s write that again so you know it’s not an error. The woman, seen with the green car, has a green bird on her head. According to our tipster, the bird was on her head while she shopped in “The Boys” farmers market.

We head to the Dunkin’ Donuts at 1200 Yamato Road, where the woman seemingly lets her dog sniff the man at the front of the line. There are several problems highlighted in this photo, but let’s discuss the two that you are no doubt focused on: the dog shouldn’t be in the store, and the woman shouldn’t be letting the dog on such a long leash that it can sniff anyone. We fault Dunkin’ Donuts for incompetent staff that doesn’t say “see ya later” to the woman with the dog, but if the woman didn’t bring the dog into the Dunkin’, there wouldn’t be a problem.

Publix at 441 and Glades Road is where we find this walking violation. Publix couldn’t make it more clear — pets are not permitted in the store. There are huge signs in the front of every Publix location now reminding customers to obey the law. (Thanks, BocaNewsNow.com!) But this person apparently felt it was fine to bring a dog into the store. Maybe it’s a fully trained service animal. We don’t know. But we do know that is a crime in Florida to claim that your dog is a trained service animal when it is not. The same way it’s a code violation to bring a dog that isn’t a legitimate service dog into a supermarket. And “emotional support animals” don’t count.

And let’s talking parking at Glades and 441. That’s where these cars decided to park in a fire lane — complete with signs that say “don’t park in the fire lane.” We sadly don’t have their license plates, but if you see cars that look like these doing it again, feel free to snap a pic — with plates —and send it our way. How hard could it be to identify a Tesla in Boca Raton?
So who is our Boca Rudeton winner of the week? It’s unquestionably the woman with the dog in Dunkin Donuts. We don’t care if it’s a legit service animal or not. There is no situation where a dog owner should permit the animal (and yes, dogs are animals. They’re not little GODS spelled backwards. They’re animals), to have such a long leash that they can sniff someone else. The dog likely has no business being in the Dunkin’ Donuts. But it certainly has no business be that close to anyone else. To the woman with the dog, well, we don’t really give prizes. But if we did, she would win: a retractable leash and our unpublished book, “It’s okay to leave your dog at home if you feel you need a donut.”

Figures it is a Tesla. Tesla drivers are supporting an immigrant data thief.
Thank you. I enjoy these articles so much.
Oh here we go had to make it political.
Elon is doing a great job. All the money wasted on stupid crap, no more!!
New Sheriff in town. Great Job MAGA
I don’t care if it’s a bicycle. Stay out of the fire lane. Not only is it a potential hazard if there is an emergency, it may cause an emergency for vehicular traffic trying to pass, and crossing pedestrians. Also, oh how ironic is your second conjecture…
I have a real service animal and I’d be afraid to bring it into the boys. I won’t go in there unless I’m wearing steel toed shoes and if you ever been there, you know why so I feel sorry for the dog. It’s lucky it got out of their alive I will tell you I have asked the county commissioners multiple times to make a special dog tag for service animals that’s different color or shape so that anybody could identify immediately a real service animal from an emotional support or nothing Dog. And yes, you’re right. It should not be on a 6 -8 foot leash. And the fact that it even walks that far away from its owner tells you it’s not a service animal. Moreover, I wish health inspectors would shut some of these stores down and make them clean themselves out as per the law a few times and they get the message and I promise you you wouldn’t see non-Service animals in those stores anymore because the cost of shutting down for 24 hours and the cleaning would upset them enough to make it happen.
I have come to realize that dogs in Florida go everywhere their owners go. People just never want to leave them home. They are inside stores, restaurants, malls, etc. It’s only gotten worse & I doubt it will go back to tge way it used to be where dogs stayed home sleeping on the couch.
I have owned dogs for years, and I’d never think about taking any of them into a restaurant, drugstore, restaurants at all. Of course, I don’t live in Boca. I have seen dogs in Home Depot, Walgreens. I don’t go to supermarkets. They are probably there too. I live in Pompano. People in Boca think they are special, and the rules that other people abide by. They look at their animals like they are they are their children. I’m not sure if they will change. Probably not. Just be thankful you done see them a lot.
I demand a reader poll to determine the winner. The woman with the bird on her head is clearly No. 1, imo, just for uniqueness alone.
The animal owners AND the restaurants/stores need to be fined. That is the only way this will stop.
It is about time that people call the Health Department or write letters, etc. This dog issue is out of control. No one is considering people who have asthma or allergies to animals and what is does to them when they come in contact. It is a health issue. These are animals, not humans. If people cannot leave the house to go grocery shopping or shopping in general without taking the dog, they need serious help. Get a pet sitter but stop bringing these animals to the restaurant to the grocery, to any retail. I saw a standard poodle in Home Goods during the holiday, it was ridiculous, you can’t get a cart down an aisle anyway then you are trying to avoid dogs. It has to end, it isn’t right, and it is again the law. I don’t want to hear one thing for these dogs, it is ridiculous. I grew up with dogs my whole life, my father never ever had them go on anyone’s property and we didn’t take them everywhere. People are rude and ignorant who do that.
Dogs are cleaner and a lot nicer than most humans! Most of the people in the stores are ill mannered . Maybe we should all learn a lesson from our four legged friends….unconditional love!!!!
The woman with the parrot on her head needs serious help. People will carry them on their shoulder, but never on their head. Can you imagine how much bird poop is on her head? I have had many different kinds of parrols and I’d never ever do this. Also birds poop alot, so you know some of it will be on the floor as well on her too. I just can’t believe someone didn’t say something to her.
