Joseph Giannetto Released From Jail Days Ago For “Compassion” After Fatal Diagnosis…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Accused fraudster Joseph Giannetto, facing multiple charges and lawsuits for allegedly defrauding Century Village Boca Raton residents out of tens of thousands of dollars while posing as a contractor, has apparently died. Giannetto had been released days earlier from the Palm Beach County Jail after his attorneys asked for a “compassionate release” following a jail doctor’s fatal diagnosis. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the letter written by jail doctor Chadia Morcos:
“To Whom It may concern, Re, Joseph Giannetto DOB 04/05/1961 The above patient suffers from severe end stage, irreversible, progressing multiple organ failure. He is bed ridden and debilitated. He is on multiple complex medical treatment for his underlying condition. Please consider compassionate release Respectfully submitted, Chadia Morcos, MD, ABIM, CCHR-P. CCHP-A RTIFIED’ Medical Director Medical Director Wellpath Main Detention Center 3228 Gun Club Road”
Giannetto was arrested multiple times for allegedly defrauding multiple Century Village Boca Raton residents out of tens of thousands of dollars — all in similar stories. Giannetto, allegedly posing as a licensed contractor, promised to install hurricane windows, renovate kitchens, or complete other major work once sizable deposits were made. The customers paid the deposit, but the work either never started or started and was never completed. GIannetto would then return weeks or months later to ask for more cash. He would take the cash and again not perform the work.
Just days before his apparent death, Giannetto was being held in the Palm Beach County Jail on a $70,000 bond, which his attorney told a judge he could not post. While multiple sources have told BocaNewsNow.com that Giannetto has died, people identified in public records as being family members have not responded to our requests for confirmation. Assuming he is, in fact, deceased, it is unlikely that victims of Giannetto’s alleged fraud will ever have their money returned. Read our previous coverage here. Giannetto, 63, lived in Century Village Boca before moving to an address in Lake Worth Beach.
