SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard Over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) Scour Countermeasures Project
Description: This 0.092-mile project on SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard over the Intracoastal Waterway (ICWW) in the City of Boca Raton began on January 9, 2024. Work includes Installing Articulated Concrete Block (ACB) at the riverbed to protect the bridge foundations from erosion on the eastbound and westbound SR 800/Spanish River Boulevard bridges. SR 794 Yamato Road Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project
Description: This 0.633-mile project on SR 794/Yamato Road from east of SR 9/I-95 to SR 5/US 1/Federal Highway in the City of Boca Raton began on February 11, 2025. Project improvements consist of milling and repaving the existing roadway within the project limits to enhance long-term infrastructure resiliency; upgrading curb ramps and replacing select sidewalk sections of the existing sidewalk to enhance pedestrian safety; replacing traffic signal mast arms at NW 2nd Avenue to improve infrastructure resiliency and motorist safety; upgrading roadway lighting and installing new LED countdown pedestrian signal heads at NW 2nd Avenue and Dixie Highway to improve pedestrian safety at crosswalks; and upgrading signage and pavement markings to enhance visibility and motorist safety. SR A1A/South Ocean Boulevard Resurfacing Project
Description: This 3.349-mile project in the Town of Highland Beach and the City of Delray Beach began on May 29, 2024. The project improvements consist of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, widening the roadway in each direction to provide five-foot bicycle lanes, modifying swales to improve drainage, and upgrading signing and pavement markings to meet current standards. Traffic Impacts:
- The southbound lane of SR A1A at 3612 S Ocean Blvd, Highland Beach, will have intermittent closures on Saturday, Mar. 1, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. for road widening work. Access to driveways and emergency services will be maintained.
- The southbound lane of SR A1A from just south of 4023 S. Ocean Boulevard to 3321 S. Ocean Blvd, Highland Beach, and from 4801 S. Ocean Boulevard to just south of 4023 S. Ocean Boulevard, Highland Beach, will be closed intermittently between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, to perform road widening and paving activities. Flaggers will direct traffic as needed. Access to driveways and businesses will be maintained.
SR 5/US 1 Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project
Description: Construction on this 1.137-mile resurfacing, restoration, and rehabilitation project from Bailey Street in Boca Raton to south of Eve Street in Delray Beach began on Friday, December 13, 2024, in Southern Palm Beach County. Work includes milling and repaving the existing roadway to ensure long-term resilience; restriping the roadway to provide 11-foot lanes and 6-foot bike lanes in each direction of SR 5/US 1 within the project limits for motorist and bicyclist safety; restriping the C-15 Canal bridge lanes to provide a 4-foot bike lane in each direction for bicyclist safety; upgrading curb ramps for pedestrian safety; upgrading pedestrian signals at Lindell Boulevard and Tropic Boulevard to new LED countdown signals to enhance pedestrian safety; upgrading the existing streetlights to LED fixtures at the intersections of Lindell Boulevard and Tropic Boulevard for longevity, efficiency, and pedestrian safety; and upgrading signage and pavement markings to enhance motorist safety. - The outside southbound lane of SR 5/ US 1/Federal Highway from Tropic Boulevard to Lindell Boulevard will be intermittently closed from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday for concrete work. Pedestrian detours will be in place.
SR 806/Atlantic Avenue Reconstruction Project
Description: This 2.760-mile project on SR 806/Atlantic Avenue, from west of SR 7/US 441 to just east of SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike, and on SR 7/US 441, from just south of Rio Grande Avenue to just south of Tivoli Island Boulevard in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach began on January 20, 2025. Work includes widening SR 806/Atlantic Avenue from west of SR 7/US 441 to east of Lyons Road from 2 to 4 lanes and from Lyons Road to east of SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike from 4 to 6 lanes to enhance traffic flow and safety. The SR 7/US 441 and SR 806/Atlantic Avenue intersection will be expanded to accommodate a third northbound and southbound through lane and a second northbound right-turn lane to improve infrastructure resilience, traffic flow, and safety. The Lyons Road and SR 806/Atlantic Avenue intersection will also be expanded to accommodate three eastbound and westbound through lanes, dual left-turn lanes, and single right-turn lanes, further improving traffic flow and safety. The project includes constructing continuous 6-foot sidewalks and 7-foot buffered bike lanes in both directions of SR 806/Atlantic Avenue from SR 7/US 441 to east of Lyons Road, along with an 8-foot sidewalk along the westbound side from east of Lyons Road to west of SR 91/Florida’s Turnpike, to enhance safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists. The existing SR 806/Atlantic Avenue bridge over the Lake Worth Drainage District E-1 canal will be reconfigured to accommodate an eastbound sidewalk, providing improved pedestrian access. The Lake Worth Drainage District L-34 canal will be relocated approximately 60 feet south to accommodate roadway widening and ensure resilient infrastructure with effective water drainage management. Additionally, the Smith Sundy Road and SR 806/Atlantic Avenue intersection will be expanded to align with a future Palm Beach County project, featuring two lanes along Atlantic Avenue in each direction. Throughout the project limits, drainage, signage, lighting, signalization, and pavement markings will be upgraded to enhance infrastructure resilience, traffic flow, and safety. SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project
Description: This 1.022-mile project on State Road (SR) 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard from SR 7/US 441 to Lyons Road in Palm Beach County began on February 6, 2025. Work includes milling and resurfacing the roadway along the project limits to enhance infrastructure resilience and safety for the community; modifying existing pavement markings along SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard to accommodate a 6-foot dedicated bicycle lane in each direction; constructing a sidewalk on eastbound SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard from SR 7/US 441 to east of the E-1 Canal to enhance pedestrian connectivity; reconstructing the sidewalk in front of the Baptist Health Bethesda Hospital West to 10-foot for enhanced pedestrian access; upgrading curb ramps, pavement markings, and signage within the project limits to improve visibility and connectivity; and upgrading guardrail connections to the existing bridge to enhance motorist safety. City of Boynton Beach Sidewalk and Bicycle Lane Improvements Project
Description: This .62-mile project on SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard and .7 miles on W Ocean Avenue in the City of Boynton Beach began on May 7, 2024. Work includes milling, resurfacing and reconstructing SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard within project limits, expanding the existing sidewalk on the south side of SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard to 15 feet and to 9 feet on the north side, performing drainage modifications to accommodate sidewalk expansion on SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard, retrofitting pedestrian lighting at signalized intersections on SR/804 Boynton Beach Boulevard, constructing a new pedestrian crossing at NW 3rd Street and SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard, installing shared lane bicycle markings (sharrows) in each direction of SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard and on West Ocean Avenue, and upgrading pedestrian signals, pavement markings, and signs. - One outside lane in each direction of SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard from just west of NW 3rd Streetto the FEC Railroad Tracks and from the FEC Railroad Tracks to US 1/Federal Highway may be closed, Monday through Friday, for striping and maintenance work through March 2025. Pedestrians will be detoured to the next signalized intersection.
SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard Resurfacing Project
Description: This 0.65-mile project on SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard from North Congress Avenue to Northwest 8th Street in the City of Boynton Beach began on February 17, 2025. Work includes milling and repaving the existing roadway within the project limits to ensure long-term infrastructure resilience and safety. It also includes replacing in-road sensors on westbound SR 804/Boynton Beach Boulevard and N Congress Avenue to improve traffic flow and enhance safety for motorists, upgrading curb ramps, and replacing sections of the existing sidewalk to enhance pedestrian safety and connectivity. Additionally, the project includes removing and reinstalling bridge joints on the existing bridge over the Lake Ida/E-4 Canal to enhance structural resilience and ride quality, upgrading the guardrail connections to the existing bridge over Lake Ida/E-4 Canal to enhance motorist safety, and installing speed feedback signs in both directions to enhance motorist awareness and safety. SR 802/Lake Worth Road Improvements Project
Description: This 1.90-mile project from Raulerson Drive to Palm Beach State College Entrance/Douglas Drive in the city of Lake Worth Beach began on November 14, 2022. Work includes constructing a new exclusive right turn lane from eastbound Lake Worth Road into the Mid-County Senior Center, installing new seven-foot bike lanes with upgraded safety features, milling and resurfacing Lake Worth Road in both directions, replacing underground Palm Beach County utilities throughout the project limits, improving sidewalk and driveways on both sides of Lake Worth Road, modifying medians to improve motorist safety, improving signalized intersections and pedestrian crossings, and installing new signage, pavement markings, and lighting. SR 802/Lake Avenue/Lucerne Avenue Resurfacing, Restoration, and Rehabilitation Project
Description: This 2.382-mile project from east of A Street to east of Golfview Road in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on February 27, 2024. Work includes milling and resurfacing the existing roadway, replacing and upgrading signing and pavement markings, installing new and upgrading existing lighting throughout the project corridor, upgrading pedestrian features at signalized intersections, and upgrading pedestrian curb ramps to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. 6th Avenue South Improvements at SR 9/I-95
Description: This 1-mile project in the City of Lake Worth Beach began on November 13, 2023. Project improvements consist of lengthening the turn lanes on 6th Avenue South, adding an exclusive right turn lane to the SR 9/I-95 northbound on ramp, adding an additional right turn lane to the SR 9/I-95 southbound on ramp, lengthening the northbound left turn lane at A Street, constructing 6-foot sidewalks on both sides of 6th Avenue South, constructing 7-foot bicycle lanes on both sides of 6th Avenue South, installing Wrong-Way Driving Countermeasures on the SR 9/I-95 northbound and southbound exit ramps, constructing 16-foot ground-mounted sound walls along the SR 9/I-95 northbound exit ramp and south side of 6th Avenue South, constructing new gravity wall, curb and gutter, traffic separator, median barrier, sidewalk and driveway along 6thAvenue South within project limits, upgrading drainage, signage, lighting, signalization and pavement markings, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) upgrades, and relocation of water, sewer and utilities for the City of Lake Worth Beach.

Traffic Impacts:
- Advanced notice, Brick Paver Removal—Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday night, Mar. 7, through 5 a.m. Monday morning, Mar. 10, the brick pavers at the intersection of 6th Avenue South and South A Street will be removed during an around-the-clock operation. In order to complete this work, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on 6th Avenue South approaching South A Street. Depending on the location of the brick paver removal, traffic may be shifted to either the north side or the south side of 6th Avenue South. Local traffic will also be detoured when side streets are blocked. Please follow the directional signage and proceed with caution through the work zone. Should inclement weather or unforeseen issues delay this work, it will continue the following weekend, Friday night, Mar. 14, 2025, through Monday morning, Mar. 17, 2025.
- 6th Avenue South, from Michigan Avenue to South C Street, may have one lane closed in each direction through March 2025.
- Side streets within the project limits may have intermittent traffic impacts related to work operations on 6th Avenue South through March 2025.

Please note only one I-95 ramp at the 6th Avenue South interchange is permitted to close at a time. Should unforeseen issues or delays impact these dates, the closures may occur the following week, Sunday night, Mar. 9, through Thursday night, Mar. 13.
- The I-95 southbound entrance ramp at 6th Avenue South may close, 9 p.m. until 5 a.m., Sunday night, Mar. 2, through Thursday night, Mar. 6, for paving operations. - The I-95 entrance and exit ramps at 6th Avenue South may have one lane closed nightly as needed, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., to safely facilitate roadway operations through March 2025. One lane will remain open during this time.

FLORIDA’S TURNPIKE
Construction activities are scheduled to begin in late January along Florida’s Turnpike/State Road (SR) 91 at the Boynton Beach Boulevard/SR 804 (Exit 86) interchange in Palm Beach County.
