According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the crash was first reported around 4:36 a.m. and involves multiple vehicles. Traffic is backed up for several miles. The location of the incident is approximately mile marker 102. Delays continue past mile marker 100.
FDOT also reports that the on-ramp to the Florida Turnpike at Okeechobee Boulevard (exit 99) is closed, with police blocking access.
