Elon Musk now gets attention 24/7, as tonight’s SpaceX launch is leading to calls regarding a plane crash in South Florida. This was the scene over Boca Raton Thursday evening.

UPDATE @ 8:42 p.m. — Multiple airports in South Florida report delays due to Elon Musk’s Space X spaceship disintegration. Unclear if his mass firing of FAA workers had any impact.

UPDATE @ 7:30 p.m. — Space X apparently broke apart ten minutes into flight. Part of its debris seemingly fell over/onto South Florida. It launched from Boca Chica in Texas, but continued on a trajectory over Florida.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Reports of a plane crash somewhere between Boca Raton and South Broward County are inaccurate, according to multiple public officials. Emergency dispatchers are receiving a huge number of calls Thursday evening from people who believe they witnessed a plane crash. It is actually part of the SpaceX launch from earlier this evening.

Officials say — or at the very least suggest — that the SpaceX launch either resulted in significant debris or possibly broke through an asteroid field after launch. Whatever the actual answer, the launch apparently led to significant debris either falling to earth or appearing to fall to earth. In either case, it is not a crash. It is all related to the launch.

BocaNewsNow.com is receiving a significant number of calls and texts from concerned readers. As of 7:18 p.m., officials maintain that there is no aviation disaster. It’s just more attention to something involving Elon Musk. Check back for updates.
