A mother and baby were injured in when their car overturned on Dixie Highway in Boca Raton Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE @ 4:00 p.m. — Dixie Highway has reopened. The scene is clear.

UPDATE @ 2:40 p.m. — Trauma Hawk was not needed. Both mother and child were extricated from the vehicle and transported to area hospitals for treatment. Expect Dixie Highway to be closed for a while, according to the Boca Raton Police Department.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An overturned car at 2:18 p.m. Thursday is leading to a significant fire rescue response in the area of 3600 North Dixie Highway in Boca Raton. Initial reports from those familiar with the incident say that a woman and baby are in the overturned car. Both need to be extricated. Palm Beach County’s Trauma Hawk helicopter crew has been placed on standby.

It’s unclear what led to the crash, or if any other car is involved. We understand the vehicle is on its roof in the northbound lane. We do not know if the vehicle was traveling northbound or southbound at the time of the crash.
