PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A search is on for the man who police say stole blood or other bodily fluid samples from an Alzheimer’s research center near Wellington Regional Medical Center. It’s unclear why the man would want the samples. The theft upended a clinical trial that was underway. Here’s the official advisory from PBSO, as shared with BocaNewsNow.com:

“On January 24, 2025, at approximately 5:31 PM, an unidentified male suspect helped himself to multiple boxes left unattended in front the Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment Center, located at the 2700 block of State Road 7 in Wellington. The stolen items consisted of clinical research samples, valued at $75,000. NO patient information was compromised. However, the clinical trials had to be suspended pending re-testing.

The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene in a silver 4-door Honda Civic. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public in identifying and locating the suspect involved in this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS (8477)”

We note police just released the information about the January theft in mid-March. It’s unclear when the facility reported the theft to police. Please take a good look at the images. If the man looks familiar, call police or CrimeStoppers.
