PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The horrific antisemitism story we reported concerning a Western Communities Football League (WCFL) coach and a man who called him a “bagel eating Jew” in front of a group of teens and other parents apparently never happened — even though it was witnessed by a crowd, admitted to by the culprit, acknowledged by WCFL staff, and documented by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. In a response reminiscent of COVID-19 reporting slammed by deniers and haters, BocaNewsNow.com has received a huge number of telephone calls and emails from people who say the antisemitic incident never took place.
These deniers all claim to be “witnesses” who were at the flag football game in Wellington Saturday night, even though they are using IP addresses that are either masked or belong to home internet service providers that are nowhere near South Florida. Everyone denying the incident is using a variation of the same script that claims “no one ever said anything about being Jewish” and “telling someone to eat a bagel is like telling them to chill out.” Many claim to have video of the incident that “proves” that the antisemitism never took place, but no one is willing to send the video to verify the claim. (Remember when COVID deniers claimed they were all in the hospitals and no one was dying?)
As we reported earlier this week, Boca Raton resident Michael Severtnick was ejected from his role as a volunteer coach when he attempted to find out who screamed “shut up you bagel eating Jew” at him during a Saturday night flag football game in Wellington’s Pierson Park. Instead of sanctioning the man who screamed the slur, Western Communities Football League officials sanctioned Severtnick — kicking him out and banning him from coaching or watching his teen son play for two weeks. Only days after multiple people complained was the man who screamed “shut up you bagel eating Jew” also sanctioned. Read our original coverage here.
Following our request for information, WCFL issued a statement blaming the victim, claiming that Severtnick was heard cursing before he was called a “bagel eating Jew.” The statement did not address how teens hearing a curse word is grounds for suspension but teens hearing a man call another man a “bagel eating Jew” isn’t. WCFL is sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes which is dedicated to “working to see the world transformed by Jesus Christ.”
BocaNewsNow.com has learned that the Anti-Defamation League is investigating the incident, and the Florida Commission on Human Relations may also be aware of the situation. Severtnick seeks immediate reinstatement, a public apology, and legitimate sanctions against the man who made the antisemitic slur. He told BocaNewsNow.com that legal action is possible.

This makes theFellowship of Christian Athletes and this particular sports club look bad.
More christian hate it seems! Never stops amazing me that the people who are preaching so much love are the ones spewing all the hate! Hypocrites who use the lords name in vain which makes it all that much worse. This organization is just the worst and should be banned from all the county parks as a first step.
