The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season Is Expected To Be Busy.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Hurricane season is just months away and respected forecasting agency AccuWeather is calling for 2025 to be Similar to the exceptionally busy 2024 hurricane season. AccuWeather’s official early forecast was released on Wednesday and obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.
According to AccuWeather, expect 13-18 named storms this year with 7-10 hurricanes, 3-5 major hurricanes, and 3-6 systems making direction impact to the United States mainland. In 2024, there were 18 named storms with 11 hurricanes, five major hurricanes, and six named storms making impact.
“AccuWeather is forecasting near to above the historical average number of named storms, hurricanes, major hurricanes, accumulated cyclone energy (ACE) and direct impacts to the United States,” said AccuWeather lead hurricane expert Alex DaSilva on AccuWeather.com.
“A rapid intensification of storms will likely be a major story yet again this year as sea-surface temperatures and ocean heat content (OHC) across most of the basin are forecast to be well above average,” added DaSilva.
The Atlantic Hurricane Season starts on June 1st, with the busy part of the season traditionally starting in late July.
