UPDATE: Names, Additional Information Released.

UPDATE @ 4:47 p.m. — The Broward Sheriff’s Office released names and additional information late this afternoon. Here is the official statement: “A mother, Julie Cruz, and her three sons were shot and killed on Wednesday evening in Pembroke Park. Cruz’s daughter and the apparent shooter, Stephen McKenzie, are hospitalized, and Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are leading the homicide investigation.
At approximately 7:36 p.m., March 26, Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a shooting at 3181 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd. Pembroke Park Police Department (PPPD) officers, Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) deputies and Hallandale Beach Police Department (HBPD) officers responded.
On scene, PPPD officers located six people shot inside the residence. Cruz and three of her four children were found deceased as a result of the shooting. PPPD officers found the apparent shooter, who appeared to have suffered from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators also located Cruz’s daughter suffering from gunshot wounds.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded and transported McKenzie and Cruz’s daughter to local hospitals for treatment.
At the request of Pembroke Park Police Department, BSO Homicide Unit detectives took over the case and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting. The investigation revealed Cruz and McKenzie shared two sons, Nova and Emery McKenzie, who are deceased. Cruz’s son Xion Solomon, who is also deceased, and daughter Phiinyx Solomon, have a different father.

On scene, officers located an adult female and three juveniles deceased as a result of the shooting. Paramedics transported an adult male and a juvenile to local hospitals for treatment.
At the request of Pembroke Park Police Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives are leading this active investigation. According to detectives, there is no apparent threat to the public. The investigation is ongoing.<<
