We of course note that they are in opposite directions from Florida, so these would be different flights for those who are geographically challenged. We share the official announcement from JetBlue:
>>JetBlue Thursday announced the return of two nonstop routes from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), reinforcing its commitment to its South Florida focus city and customers across the East Coast and Latin America. Beginning this July, JetBlue will resume service between Fort Lauderdale and both Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) in Guayaquil, Ecuador.1 Flights are on sale now, with one-way fares starting as low as $69 and $119.2 These route additions come on top of JetBlue’s recent investments in South Florida, growing departures in the region by 6% year-over-year. JetBlue is doubling down as Fort Lauderdale’s leading premium leisure carrier, now offering over 70 daily flights to over 30 destinations, the most flights of any airline this summer to the Caribbean and Latin America, and more than 60% growth in lie-flat seats compared to last summer.
“As JetBlue continues to build the best East Coast leisure network, we are offering customers more value, choice and convenience,” said Daniel Shurz, head of revenue, network and enterprise planning at JetBlue. “With direct access from Philadelphia and Guayaquil via Fort Lauderdale, we’re not only making it easier for more customers to get to their favorite vacation destination, but also to connect with their family and friends, all while strengthening JetBlue’s position as a preferred carrier in South Florida.” <<
The Philly flights are Flight 2016 (FLL-PHL) Departing at 8 a.m. and arriving Philly at 10:50 a.m. That plane returns as flight 429 at 11:45 a.m., arriving FLL at 2:35 p.m. The second flight departs FLL at 4:10 p.m. and arrives Philadelphia at 7:00 p.m. It returns at 7:55 p.m. as flight 216 and arrives at 10:45 p.m.
If you’re heading to Ecuador, the new daily flight 1255 leaves FLL at 10:00 a.m. and arrives GYE at 1:30 p.m. It returns as flight 1256, departing GYE at 2:40 p.m. and arriving at FLL at 8:09 p.m.
