BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A small plane made an emergency landing late Sunday morning in what we can best describe as “Very West Boca Raton.” Incredibly, no one was injured.
Witnesses taking part in Sunday morning sports at West Boca Raton Senior High School witnessed a plane that looked like it was in distress. The plane then seemingly vanished. Witnesses say they heard sirens a short time later, then witnessed fire trucks rushing by the school. The plane made an emergency landing on Loxahatchee Road southwest of West Boca High and in what most people would refer to as the Everglades. Multiple Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units responded to the scene and quickly determined that medical assistance was not needed. The official statement from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue: “A small aircraft experienced a mechanical issue and had to make an emergency landing. Upon arrival PBCFR and PBSO crews made contact with the pilot. No injuries were reported at the scene, and the aircraft remained intact.”
It was not immediately clear if the pilot was the only person on the plane. It appears the plane took from Pompano Airpark, but we are withholding tail number information until it’s confirmed.
I only wish that the last plane crash in Boca had the same outcome.
