CONSUMER ALERT UPDATE: Are Daniel Rothman, Eldad Rothman, and Roy Yamner Nefariously Targeting U.S. Customers? We Advise you To Stay Far Away From This Israeli-Based Company.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We reported a consumer alert several days ago about GlassesUSA, an online glasses maker owned by an Israeli investment company called Optimax. While the company has a few “brick and mortar” stores — and we wonder what the intent is of those stores — it’s largely an outlet for what are supposed to be precision made glasses with fast turnaround. But unlike WarbyParker which has established itself as beloved US-based glasses maker, GlassesUSA — from what we can see — is something of scam based in Israel.
After being tipped off by several readers, we ordered a pair of glasses from GlassesUSA to see what would happen. The ordering process is full of discount after discount — so customers think they’re getting a great deal. But after screens stating “ready to ship” and suggesting you’ll have your glasses in just a few days, reality sets in after you place an order. That’s when the emails start that your glasses will take six days. Then nine. Then twelve. Then there’s a refund of the $12 expediting fee. But there’s no update about when the glasses will actually be made or arrive.
Chats with “customer service” agents — who seemingly use random names that may or may not actually belong to them — yield no results. They hit keys that generate the same excuses over and over again, but what they don’t do is generate glasses. There’s always a problem. There’s always misinformation. There’s always an apology. But there’s never a product.

GlassesUSA lists a corporate address of Tel Aviv, Israel. Optimax Investments is run by several Israel residents, including Daniel Rothman, Eldad Rothman, and Roy Yamner. Efforts to contact these executives led to no response, as did efforts to obtain comment from the company’s media relations representative.
As we reported last week, Glasses USA has nearly two thousand negative reports with the Better Business Bureau. Our advice: stay far, far away from GlassesUSA. If you make a purchase, only use a credit card. You can always dispute the charge later when customer service provides no customer service. Our advice: stay far, far away from GlassesUSA.com.
