Brent Berman — who lives in the same building as Chops Lobster Bar — was jailed on a count of battery.
According to a police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, police were called to Chops after Berman allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with an employee at the restaurant. Berman was found outside the restaurant and initially told police that he was “just walking.” But police were told a different story by employees.
“(The alleged victim) was working at the bar bar (when) Berman slid a wine glass across the bar causing it to break and began to cause a disturbance. Berman then locked eyes with him and walked towards him. It should be noted that (the victim) did not say anything to Berman and was only standing near th bear. Berman headbutted (the victim) and pushed him with his chest. At this point other employees stepped in and separated both parties. I did not observe any physical injuries to the victim.”
Accoridng to a witness speaking with police: “She was working at the bar and she had her back turned and heard a glass shatter. When she looked over, she saw Berman yelling and screaming at multiple people in their faces causing a disturbance. Berman was then about to leave and then turned around and walked towards (the victim). Berman then pushed (the victim) with his chest and employees separated Berman from the alleged victim.”

Berman then told police that he went to Chops Lobster Bar and “had a nice dinner.” He advised that did not remember having an altercation with any of the employees and denied any altercation being physical. “It should be noted Berman had slurred speech and I could smell the strong odor of alcohol emanating from his breath as he was heavily intoxicated by alcohol.”
Berman was charged with battery. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail early Monday morning and later released on $1,000 bond. A court date is pending. (The lead image attached to this article was humorously imagined by Google Gemini).
