BOCA RUDETON: Dogs In Restaurants, Unbelievable Parking

Boca Rudeton June 1 2025

In The Land Of Excess, We Find More Selfish Dog Owners And Parkers Who Take Spaces That Aren’t Theirs.

Boca Rudeton roars — or barks — into June.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — How rude and self-absorbed are residents and visitors in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, and beyond? So rude that they again fill up the never-ending digital pages of our Boca Rudeton section. This week’s edition is jam packed with dogs in restaurants, makeup stores, supermarkets, and drivers who think it’s okay to create their own parking space. Welcome to Boca Rudeton for Sunday, June 1st, 2025.

If you think that laws are correct and this dog shouldn’t be sitting at a table at Souvlaki at 8794 Boynton Beach Boulevard, you’re not alone. Our tipster doesn’t know why this woman was allowed inside with the animal.

We start at Souvlaki Restaurant in Boynton Beach, where our tipster says this woman walked into the restaurant and was strangely seated inside — with the dog — even though outside seating was plentiful. We’re not sure if Souvlaki knows that they can’t have dogs inside the restaurant, but perhaps a health inspector will visit at some point and remind them of laws and statutes. If you’re looking for a dog-free environment, maybe skip Souvlaki.

At Aldi in Boca Raton, it’s unclear why this huge dog is with this woman. Or far away from the woman. The dog shouldn’t be in a supermarket.

At Aldi in Pompano Beach, this woman inexplicably has a huge dog on a leash that seems to be designed to keep a violent animal away from others. Which makes us wonder: is this dog violent? Why is a huge dog — let alone any dog — in Aldi? Dogs are not allowed in supermarkets. It’s just that simple. Maybe this dog has special magical powers. But it’s so far from its woman that it seems unlikely that the dog does anything other than get attention. But of course, we could be wrong.

Two spots, one car at The Boys Farmers Market in Boynton Beach.

To parking now. We start at The Boy’s Farmers Market in Boytnon Beach, where our tipster wonders why the Toyota Highlander with Florida plate Y87-SDV is taking up two spots. We wonder, too.

%%
Two spaces for one Tesla at “The Space” in Delray Beach. Florida Plate 75B-ISG, is that you?

It’s mildly amusing that at “The Space” on Congress in Delray Beach, the Tesla with Florida plate 75B-ISG is taking two spaces. It doesn’t seem like too many people are looking for space to enjoy a cold plunge and “breathwork,” but maybe the facility could encourage drivers to use one space for one car.

%%
At Aberdeen Golf and Country Club, the Mercedes with Florida license plate IJ9-9AQ is taking two spots. Why?

At Aberdeen Golf and Country Club in Boynton Beach, our tipster there is curious about the Mercedes. Not whether or not it’s a nice car, but why the “entitled driver” with Florida plate IJ9-9AQ needs two spots. Excellent question. If you have answer, please use our contact form to let us know.

%%
Why would the driver of the Nissan Murano with Florida plate 15A-IZD need to park in a no parking zone?

And at the Publix shopping center at Glades Road and U.S. 441 in West Boca Raton, you’ve got to credit to the person who decided to make their own space. That person is the driver of this Nissan Murano with Florida license plate 15A-IZD. For those of you tuning into life late, it turns out white diagonal lines mean “don’t park here” instead of “yes park here.” Our tipster isn’t sure if it’s arrogance, ignorance, stupidity, or all three. We’re leaning towards the latter.

So who is our winner this week? Frequent readers of our Boca Rudeton™ feature know that we don’t really give prizes, but if we did: we think Souvlaki Dog and its owner absolutely are the Boca Rudeton standouts. The prize we won’t be presenting: a free copy of the upcoming BocaNewsNow.com book: “it’s not hard to be considerate of others, so leave your damn dog at home.” Remember: it’s never the dog’s fault. The dog can’t choose whether it gets a considerate or selfish human.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. Share your thoughts about this week’s pet owners and bad parkers through our contact channels. Boca Rudeton™ is a trademark of MetroDesk Media, LLC. 1. To be fair, the car parked erroneously at the Aberdeen Golf & Cemetery Club probably belongs to someone in their 90’s who shouldn’t be driving to begin with. I live there and we refer to it as God’s waiting room.

  2. When looking at the picture of the car in the stripped area, I noticed the car was parked next to a blue handicapped parking spot. Often this is the area that is used by handicapped persons with wheelchairs or walkers. Or caregivers assisting a handicapped persons. Parking in this area could leave a handicapped person stranded, unable to get in their car. Some handicapped spots are equipped for vans, with a walk through area, and some are not. Have a heart and watch out for handicapped individuals.

  3. Isn’t there a way to start a petition about this whole situation with dogs in restaurants and grocery stores? I mean, seriously—this can’t be normal. Someone needs to put a stop to it. It’s just so disrespectful

    1. If a store owner or manager allows it, he is complicit and must share responsibility for his inattention and lax attitude. store owner/manager needs to be hit in his wallet, big time!

    2. I agree that it’s disrespectful for people to bring their dogs into restaurants and grocery stores. It’s also illegal so not sure a petition about that is necessary. Perhaps a petition for the police to actually enforce the ADA laws…and maybe offer free classes on the service animal portion of the ADA to business managers, similar to what the fire department does with their CPR/AED classes.

      1. I had to step over a dog in Boca Flanigan’s to get to my table. I complained to management and management called the police. I was escorted out and the dog stayed. Go figure!! Management (and law enforcement) must be scared to death of causing a question with service animals.

  4. If eateries had their licenses/permits pulled for health code violations, this problem would disappear. I think all these inspectors are on the take or just plain ignorant. At least fine these restaurants for their abrogations!

  5. These people that bring their dogs into a place where animals aren’t permitted, do not care about anyone else but themselves. They drive and park vehicles anywhere they want to. They do not care about handicap people who need a space close to the door. All they care about is themselves. Boca Raton has a reputation of me, me, and more me. That was funny what the previous writer said about Boca becoming God’s Waiting Room. About that huge dog in the store. I find it unbelievable that someone would bring a dog of that size into the store. These people simply do not care what you think.

  6. You should publish a comprehensive list of the restaurants and supermarkets who are not enforcing the state and federal laws prohibiting animals in their premises. People like me would refrain from doing business there, and that might make them enforce the LAW.

  7. Cry me a river. If you dont like the dog wherever you are then leave and protest or petition or do something other than complain. Not sure why a dog cant go to sephora. Not sure why you black out two faces in a picture but not the one. This is silly, i take my dog with me places, i try not to bring her into food places, most coffee shops allow me to bring my dog in. This is just a miserable article series. Yes people park absurdly, yes people do things their not supposed to, you think because you took a picture of an infraction it means anything? It doesnt. Get a life, i want to follow you around and take pics of you and i guarantee you do things i dont agree with or things that may be infringing on a law.

  8. Brian – it’s against the law, plain and simple. Dogs do not belong in restaurants, stores or coffee shops. It’s a health hazard in case you didn’t know. People need to leave their pets at home.

    1. Brian…
The law is the law. No animals are allowed in any location where food is located. Be a big boy and take your dog to the park. No one will complain about that. Just don’t bring your fur baby into an establishment that has food. It’s not that hard !

  9. Dogs do not belong in groceries stores or restaurants. Managers need to be strict . Leave your dog at home . Selfish people . We were at Kalux in pompano beach restaurant and there was a women feeding her dog from her plate , and then two more big dogs came in . How do you explain that . Where is the manager ????

    1. Why can’t the pictures you publish be sent to the local health department? Hopefully, If pressure is put on them, and store owners are warned that fines will be imposed or licenses suspended we can make some progress. One thing is certain, these selfish, inconsiderate dog owners won’t do the right thing themselves
