Barbara Riemer Took “Leave Of Absence” After Husband Charged With Molesting Children.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The new principal of Whipsering Pines Elemetnary School in West Boca Raton is Monique Coyle. Coyle’s appointment was announced Monday, just weeks after longtime principal Barbara Riemer took a “leave of absence” following her husband’s arrest on charges that he molested young girls. Norman Riemer — an educational specialist with the Palm Beach County School District — remains held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
We are awaiting an official announcement from the Palm Beach County School District with Monique Coyle’s background and history, but she is clearly no stranger to elementary education. The following is from her LinkedIn Profile.

The Palm Beach County School District’s 2024-2025 school year ended for students on Friday and teachers today. It officially resumes in early August. It is unclear when or if Dr. Barbara Riemer will return from her leave of absence. A court date is pending for her husband. Read our coverage of his arrest here.
UPDATE at 5:40 p.m, we just received this bio from the Palm Beach County School District’s Instructional Superintendent Alicia Steiger
who notes the school board must sign off on the appointment:
Mrs. Coyle brings 26 years of experience in education and a deep commitment to student success. Her background includes sixteen years of elementary classroom teaching in grades 1 through 5, as well as a year at the middle school level as an Intensive Reading teacher. She has worked extensively with diverse student populations, including students receiving ESE services, English Language Learners, and Gifted students.
In her administrative roles, Mrs. Coyle served in the Professional Development Department of the School District of Palm Beach County, where she led leadership development initiatives for both teachers and administrators. She then continued her leadership journey at Boca Raton Elementary, where she served as Assistant Principal for five years. Most recently, she has been the Principal of Sandpiper Shores Elementary in Boca Raton where she has continued to ensure positive student outcomes for all of the students whom she serves. In addition, Sandpiper Shores is also a very large cluster site for our South Region students who receive ESE services through the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) educational service model.
Mrs. Coyle is a relationship-centered leader who is excited to join the Whispering Pines community. She is eager to build strong partnerships with students, families, and staff as she begins this new chapter with Unicorn Nation.
As we close out the school year, I will continue to support and lead the Whispering Pines team and will work closely with Mrs. Coyle to ensure a smooth and successful leadership transition. In the near future, she will be hosting a Meet and Greet to introduce herself to the community and begin building connections with students, families, and staff.
