Another Week Of Rudeness In Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton and Beyond…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Another week, another collection of rude people living in and visiting Palm Beach County (and North Broward). We start this week’s show in just a moment, but first, it’s come to our attention that some people are slightly confused at how to pronounce “Boca Rudeton,” the most popular column in all the land. It’s simple: say “Boca Raton” but change the “Ra” to “Rude.” So “Boca Rude-Tone.” It also works if you hail from New York and tend to over-emphasize the last part of the city’s name. In that case, just go with “Boca Rude-Tahhhhhn.” The key part is the “rude” part.
All right, let’s get started, and let’s get started in West Boca, where the couple above seems to have no problem putting their dog in a booth at “It’s All Greek” in the shopping center at U.S. 441 and Clint Moore Road. (9704 Clint Moore Road). Whether you speak Greek or any other language, the law is simple. No dogs in restaurants. And certainly no dogs on seats where humans sit. Gross.

In The Boys Farmers Market (14378 South Military Trail), our tipster wants to know why this woman has a dog in a food market. It’s a good question. As we always say, perhaps this dog is trained to provide lifesaving functions. Perhaps. Or, perhaps it’s just a dog illegally in a store violation health and safety laws.

In an area Target, there’s no explanation — according to our tipster — about why this woman has a dog in the store. Target sells food. That means no pets in the store. We don’t know if Target management just looked the other way, or was aiding and abetting a violation. It’s not like Target’s loss prevention watches everything going on in the store from security cameras and monitors. Oh, wait…

At the Longhorn Steakhouse on Congress in Boynton Beach, a diner there wants to know why this guy has a dog on his lap. Again, we just have to assume that his ball of fur can provide lifesaving functions for which it has undergone extensive training. Why else would that dog be in a restaurant?

Let’s move on to parking now, and this Subaru with Florida plate EYQ-Y11. We note that is not a handicapped plate, and we’ve seen photos showing no placard in the front. So that leaves this question: why is his car parked in part of a handicapped space and part of a “don’t park here” space at the Citibank in Regency Court?

To Royal Palm now, where this car — with what seems to be a law enforcement license plate — is facing the wrong direction. We receive lots and lots of complaints about lax enforcement in Royal Palm. Looks like this Dodge Charger with Florida tag FI24C is the latest example.

And on that note, the Hyundai Elantra with Florida plate DR9-7ZX seemingly has a driver who can’t read. If you can’t make out the huge purple sign, it says “No Parking Along Curb.”
THE BOCA RUDETON WINNER.
There can be just one Boca Rudeton winner for the week, and that choice is quite simple. By unanimous vote of all of our judges, it’s the couple with the dog in “It’s All Greek.” Readers of Boca Rudeton know that we don’t really give prizes, but if we did, it would be a “Greek To English Translation of Florida Law” book. In that book, one might find statute 413.08(9) that prohibit pets from being in restaurants. Ironically, it’s our friends at La Bamba — a Mexican restaurant in Delray Beach — that have the best translation:

To our “It’s Greek” winners, congrats! You are very, very special people!
We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. Concern that as our mayor welcomes these people fleeing out-of-control cities and states, we will see more of this behavior. Perhaps hand-out pamphlets on manners and regs should be given to newcomers before they move here.
Now, would *~BIGGER~* signage help the Rudetons see that bringing fur and feathered creatures into dining and food shop areas is illegal here. Employees, managers of noted establishments are not turning away these privileged “humans” hence this continued practice. If not wanting to be put upon, just call Sheriff, Police and have them come and handle things. Dining and a show! I’d pay to see that!
is the owner of real certified service Animal I have repeatedly asked county commissioners to change the dog tags to reflect a special tag for a registered service animal so anybody in a restaurant grocery store or public could look down immediately and know whether a dog was fake or real as the Animal would have to be vetted to have that tag it could be as simple as a special color or shape so far there has been no interest in doing so but I really don’t understand is why all of these photos are not forwarded to the health inspectors for these locations. The photos alone should be sufficient for them to be fine and I promise you if they’re fined a few times the $5000 and the closure to have to clean their facilities they will get the message quickly
We agree. And it’s people like you with true service animals that people who provide photos of the liars and cheaters are trying to help.
Alex there is no registry for service animals or ESA animals. You can tell a service animal by its behavior. You can’t prove it’s not if the owner says it is and what it is used for.
If you have a service dog, then you should know that there is no such thing as a service dog registry.
A true Service animal is trained to stay on the floor and that’s the law.
The animals in the photos are all pets pretending to be emotional support animals. Even if the manager can’t tell the difference, are don’t want confrontation, they should never allow them off the floor.
These are health code violations and should be reported. There is also a cleaning protocol required after a service animal leaves. If a restaurant doesn’t follow health codes in the front of the house, I assume they don’t follow them in the kitchen either.
Should me a registry, like there is for handicap cars
Articles like this cause unnecessary animosity in a town that has for all intents and purpose, give more money to worthy causes and any other in the state. Why not be so nasty and rude yourself, and write something NICE about this beautiful town!
Seems like you’re part of the problem. Follow the laws. They’re here for a reason.
We have a Cocker Spaniel who at home is treated like a king. However, when we are out and about running errands, groceries, quick stop at McDonald’s one of us always sits in the car with the dog. When where done with errands, it’s his time to walk at the park. And , yes he is an emotional support animal for my wife, he is not a hero dog, a life saver, just a dog. AND HE WILL NEVER BE INSIDE A PUBLIC AREA.
I don’t understand what being a charitable location has to do with following the law. Am I to understand the poster that if I give to charities I don’t have to follow the loss or that because I give the charity it’s OK for me to possibly affect the health of everybody else it’s exactly that attitude that’s the problem. You’re an entitled SOB and probably a carpetbagger look up the definition. Let me guess you think it’s probably OK to park in a handicap spot even if you don’t have a handicap placard or you’re not the owner of that placard and you probably think it’s OK to park backwards on a street and of course your dog should be at the table at a restaurant or maybe even eating some food that you feed it at the table and let me guess she probably think it’s OK for her to piss on the fruit in the grocery store not trained not to too bad people like that can’t be set packing
Because it’s disgusting. I for one want to know those places where dogs are being allowed and I will avoid going there.
Boca Raton is a beautiful town and we are blessed that she lets us live, visit and enjoy her. Thing is we’d like Boca to remain the jewel that she is. I donate to many causes but that doesn’t give me privilege to break the law. Quite the contrary.
Get over yourself, obviously you’re a miserable unhappy person that needs to complain about everything. Get a life.
Many of these dogs are cleaner than most people. Why don’t you complain about how dirty little kids are slobbering all over restaurants and shopping carts while your at it.
No, dogs are not cleaner than children.
Children don’t lick their own butts and then lick something else. Children wear diapers and underwear, but dogs put their bare behinds on surfaces not meant for that kind of contamination, such as restaurant booths and shopping cart baskets.
I’m so sick of people taking dogs to restaurants to grocery store. The Boys doesn’t even have enough space for humans now you have trip Hazzard dogs there. I applaud La Bamba thank God finally someone who has a brain. People can buy fake papers fake tags. DOGS BELONG AT HOME. You are all rude not thinking of people who are allergic to dogs have asthma and other disorders which could send them to the hospital. The Health Dept needs to put a mandate out. There already is one NO DOGS inside a restaurant you can eat outdoors ONLY. It’s sickening to see a dog’s butt in a seat where people will sit. All these people win the rude award this week. If you can’t leave home without your dog you need therapy.
This series is mean-spirited, unfunny, and unnecessary. Please consider writing something positive and encouraging for our awesome town (Or move to a town that you feel meets your standards.) Do better.
The black Charger, with the “Law Enforcement plate” is NOT officially associated with law enforcement. The plate denotes the Florida Sheriff’s Association, and anyone can purchase that plate type, as a supporter, for an additional fee.
Why are you anti dogs? Rudeton really ???? Feeling your attitude is just that. Not harming you or any person so
Let
It
Be
Not anti-dog. Pro-law and pro people being able to shop and eat without being around arrogant, self-entitled people who believe they have a right to bring their dogs into places where they do not belong.
I completely agree. The problem is that being polite and respecting shared spaces nowadays feels like it’s “against the law.”
Unfortunately, kindness and respect seem out of style.
The world feels upside down.
NO. You care about spread stupid gossip instead of truthful NEWSWORTHY stories. The owners of these stores don’t care. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Dogs walking around food stores and moneys a thing so why would I take a picture and post it?? That’s what you’re doing. Post REAL news
BECAUSE IT IS ILLEGAL
How about some perspective. We should be more concerned about criminals and illegals sneaking into the country plotting vile crimes than we should be about dogs.
Should laws about Stopping for a school bus, stop signs, smoking in restaurant , parking in front of fire hydrants, etc also be ignored because you think that laws referring to animals in food places should be ignored ? Wonder which other ones would these rude, law breaking, self entitled citizens of this wonderful area like to have overlooked! I bet some of you
Named above are guilty of taking your four legged “friends” out to lunch or shopping!
If there was a law against ugly 5 pound accessory dogs, we would all be better off. I’ve rarely seen such poor specimens of the canine family.
I have never met a dog I didn’t like and I end up petting most of them. I grew up with dogs. But—-they should not be taken to food stores or restaurants! They like to lick things! I like for them to lick me, but I don’t like for them to lick packages and things I might buy! They should not be in food markets or restaurants
I blame the resturant / store owners for allowing them to enter or stay in their establishments !!!
Grow a pair & throw them out or if you’re too scared call the non emergancy police but they will probably gone before they arrive but you can still file a complaint
Leave your emotional support animals at home. They are no more than pets with papers. The pet dogs are the primary problem and are not service animals that perform a function for the owner.
It’s a problem all over Florida which is particularly bad in supermarkets and restaurants. The law is in place for a reason, health and safety. The attitude of entitlement is off the charts, fine these people.
Why is it even a debate. I am a dog and animal lover: however, dogs carry diseases, ticks and worms; most people rarely wash them; they usually smell; they lick their balls and anuses then lick your face; and track it into a place like a grocery store and restaurant. Have you ever seen a dog do the robot(when they track and drag their ass along the carpet in circles)? That is because of worms which most dogs have. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs, but its gross to bring them into places where sanitary laws should forbid them. How would you like it if a sandwich maker didn’t wear gloves? Then he/she scratched their groins and made your roast beef footlong? Or picked their butts and made you a turkey club? Have some decency and leave your loved ones at home.
Dogs should generally not be allowed in restaurants due to health, safety, and hygiene considerations. Key reasons include:
Food Safety Regulations: Most public health codes and food safety regulations prohibit animals in areas where food is prepared, stored, or served. The presence of dogs can increase the risk of contamination through fur, saliva, or waste.
Allergies: Many individuals suffer from pet allergies. Allowing dogs in enclosed dining spaces can expose these individuals to allergens, potentially leading to serious health issues.
Hygiene Concerns: Dogs may carry dirt, parasites, or bacteria on their bodies, which can compromise the cleanliness of the dining environment. Even well-groomed pets can inadvertently shed hair or dander that affects sanitary conditions.
Safety Risks: Not all dogs are well-trained or comfortable in crowded spaces. This can lead to barking, aggression, or unpredictable behavior, which poses safety risks to both patrons and staff.
Disruption to Other Guests: Some patrons may have a fear of dogs or may simply prefer to dine in a pet-free environment. The presence of dogs can create discomfort or diminish the overall dining experience for these individuals.
