DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A fire mid-day Tuesday in Delray Beach was quickly brought under control by the fire fighting professionals with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. PBCFR issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:

>> At approximately 1:40, PBCFR Units were dispatched to the 5500 block of Nepsa Way for a reported fire.  The 911 caller stated that they turned on the stove and found it had caught fire. A fire alarm and a sprinkler water-flow alarm were also received. Initial arriving units found a three-story apartment building with nothing initially showing.  Smoke was noticed from an apartment on the third floor.

PBCFR personnel rapidly entered the building and removed one person who had taken refuge on the 3rd floor unit’s back balcony, shutting the door behind them, keeping the smoke away.

Once out of the building and on the ground, the individual denied any injury and did not request transport to the ER. The sprinkler prevented rapid fire spread. The engine team had the fire out in under 1 minute. The fire was contained to the area of origin.  PBCFR Fire Investigators are on the scene.  The results of the investigation are pending. <<
