HOOKY Entertainment, Formerly Frank, EVO Entertainment And Paragon Theaters In Delray Marketplace, Has Health Problems. Again.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Whether you call it by its brand new name “Hooky Entertainment,” it’s old new name “EVO Entertainment,” or its original names of “Frank’s” and “Paragon Theaters,” for the third time in months the movie theater in Delray Marketplace is facing a number of violations filed by a health inspector reporting to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. We wrote about EVO/Hooky back in September of last year when it was ordered closed, and again in January when a number of violations were found. Now it’s summer and the theater has health problems again. (We note there were NO violations when it was owned by Paragon. It was sold in Q1 of 2024).
Per BocaNewsNow.com policy, the following is the unedited list of violations just filed following a June 27th inspection. We note that the theater was not ordered to close this time, but an unannounced follow-up inspection is pending.
High Priority – Stop Sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse. Time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. #1 observed cooked onions (59F). Per operator food not prepared or portioned today. Food held in unit more than four hours. See stop sale.

Intermediate – Certified Food Manager or person in charge lacks knowledge of foodborne illnesses and symptoms of illness that would prevent an employee from working with food, clean equipment and utensils, and single-service items.
Intermediate – Food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime. Observed soda nozzles at front counter soiled with slime and or food debris. **Repeat Violation**
Basic – Floor soiled/has accumulation of debris at popcorn station. Operator swept floor. **Corrected On-Site**
As movie theater companies struggle to make money in a world where most people would rather watch feature films in their homes — away from gross people and $10 cups of soda, the theater in Delray Marketplace seems to change ownership faster than GL Homes builds property up and down Lyons Road — where the movie theater sits. EVO Entertainment took over the facility from Paragon Theaters last year, and now Hooky is promoting the theater on its corporate website. Also on its website: an email generator that will tell people you’re out for the afternoon so you can catch a flick. That certainly will save the movie theater industry.

I am the one of the owners and Co-CEO of Paragon Theaters. This theater and entertainment complex was sold to EVO in January of 2024. We have nothing to do with any of the health violations that have occurred as we don’t own nor operate this theater. We would ask that you visit us at our recently renovated theater in Deerfield Beach that has an IMAX and Lux Box dine-in service.
Completely accurate. The violations started after the sale in 2024 according to State of Florida records.
Hookey theatre also has no security to get into movie..went to see Mission impossible pt 2 in IMAX, ON 5/22 and just walked right in, no one checked to see if I had a ticket, no one in front collecting any tickets, needless to say i won’t be back..felt very unsafe..
This has got to be the dumbest comment. I’ve seen all day. You don’t think somebody could just spend 10 bucks getting in the movie and still feel unsafe. Come on grow up.
