Tri-Rail is experiencing major delays Tuesday morning after a person was struck by a train and died on the tracks.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A person was killed by a Tri-Rail train Tuesday morning around 7:40 a.m. Service is now disrupted for southbound trains between north Broward County and Miami.

Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that Broward Fire Rescue arrived on the scene of 3491 NW 8th Avenue in Pompano Beach around 7:44 a.m. and found a person deceased. It was not immediately clear if the person committed “suicide by train” or if the death was unintentional.

All southbound Tri-Rail train traffic has been stopped from north of the scene. A ‘bus bridge’ is being established, according to Tri-Rail’s realtime tracker. It was not immediately clear what route the “bus bridge” is taking. We encourage you to download and use the Tri-Rail app from the App Store of your choice for the latest on your routing.
