PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major project that caused significant traffic havoc in northern Palm Beach County is now complete — and early. Palm Beach County issued a statement on Saturday:
>>The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and CSX are pleased to announce the early reopening of the Northlake Boulevard and Beeline Highway intersection. Originally scheduled to reopen on August 10, the roadway officially reopened to traffic at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, allowing motorists to resume regular travel one day ahead of schedule.
As part of the reopening, a new eastbound traffic shift on Northlake Boulevard has been implemented to safely facilitate the next phase of FDOT construction. Eastbound lanes have been shifted to the inside and will include two through lanes and one dedicated right-turn lane. This new traffic pattern will remain in place until Summer 2026. Motorists are advised to use caution and refer to the included map for details on the updated traffic pattern to ensure a safe and smooth commute through the work zone.
Traffic signal operations along the former detour routes will return to their normal timing schedules, helping to restore regular traffic flow in the area.
Meanwhile, construction remains ongoing at the intersection of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road and Northlake Boulevard, which is operating under a traffic shift and temporary intersection configuration as part of continued county infrastructure improvements. Motorists should remain alert and follow all posted signage and detours in that area.
FDOT and CSX appreciate the community for their patience and cooperation throughout the closure. Public support played a vital role in the safe and timely completion of this essential track replacement and signalization improvement project.<<
