It’s The Back to School Edition Of Boca Rudeton: Where Visitors and Locals Need To Be Schooled On Florida Law — And Decency…

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Welcome to the back-to-school edition of Boca Rudeton, our regular look at the rude people living in — and visiting — Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Lake Worth, and beyond. This edition is dedicated to people who clearly need to be schooled on how to act in public. It’s appropriate since public school in Palm Beach County starts on Monday.

We start with the woman seen in the images, above. Maybe she’s a police officer. Maybe she’s an ICE Agent. Or maybe she’s just a person shopping at an area shopping center who decided it’s perfectly fine to park in a spot reserved with law enforcement. It’s not. While the “law enforcement” parking spot isn’t really legally binding in a private parking lot, most people would agree that leaving it for police is the right thing to do. This woman, apparently, has a problem doing the right thing. If you see her and her Hyundai Sonata with Florida plate EXF-P06, you might want to stay away.

We feel like jumping around between parking and dogs in this edition, so let’s head over to Publix at Federal and Camino Real in Boca Raton. That’s where this couple apparently can’t read the huge signs that say “no pets.” Of course, as we always say, maybe fluffy-wuffy is a highly trained service animal. Or, maybe it’s just a pet and these people are violating Florida law.

If you are thinking about eating at the new restaurant — Cafe Landwer (9858 Clint Moore Road in Boca Raton) — we strongly encourage you to reconsider, unless you are fine in a restaurant where management apparently looks the other way when it comes customers with dogs. Dogs are not permitted in Florida restaurants unless the dog is a trained service animal. Readers, do we think the blonde haired woman on the phone holding a dog is actually holding a trained service dog? Anyone? Anyone? Just a reminder, here’s Florida law:

LaBamba in Delray Beach gets it right. This is the sign that meets all customers. Emotional Support Animals are fake, and lying about a legitimate service animal is a crime.

At Avalon in Delray Beach (110 East Atlantic Avenue), we find two women with two dogs. Our tipster wants to know why the restaurant is ignoring this gross violation of Florida statute. We think it’s a wonderful question. If you’re thinking of eating in this restaurant, we encourage you to rethink that plan. Clearly there’s an animal problem.

There also was an apparent animal problem at Boca Raton’s “battle of the bands” at Mizner Park. Our tipster shared a collage of photos (thanks!) There’s a huge sign that says “no pets!” As school restarts in Boca Raton and all of Palm Beach County, we remind all that reading is fundamental.

At the Fresh Market in Delray Beach on Linton near Federal, we ask the question: why is this woman wearing pants with flowers and palm trees? We also ask the more pressing question: why does she have a dog in the store? Maybe it’s a service animal. Or maybe it’s her pet, which is illegal.

At Doris’ in Boca Raton, our tipster says management was asked why this dog was permitted inside. The reported response: it’s okay so long as the dog is not in a cart. That’s actually not true, and we look forward to a health inspection at Doris’ where perhaps the State of Florida will school Doris’ management on what’s legal and what isn’t. (And why a food store might not want animals inside).

At the Publix at 16130 Jog Road in Delray Beach — Addison Center — we’re curious about what the driver was thinking. Here’s what we’re thinking: The driver of this white Mercedes with Florida plate 83DVFB should not be allowed to drive. There really is no one in this car. It is really parked over a line and on a diagonal, in a lane of travel. God love Florida.

At Cache Cleaners near the Publix at US 441 and Clint Moore Road, we find this blondie with her Mercedes GLS450 stopped in a lane of traffic to drop off dry cleaning. Our tipster couldn’t believe how rude the driver of this car with Florida plate DQ42DH really is. We believe it! She’s driving in South Palm Beach County.

At Royal Palm Place in Boca Raton, the driver of this Range Rover with Florida plate 64EMJY apparently decided to park along a fire zone and blocking a lane of traffic. We have to ask. WHY?
The Boca Rudeton Winner Of The Week
It was quite a week for Boca Rudeton! But as our regular readers know, there can only be one winner. Is it a Parker? Is it a dog? Is it a dog’s owner? Our judges have reviewed the entries and came to the conclusion that our winner this week is none other than “Blondie With Dog In Cafe Landwer.” Sure, there are others that come close, but this woman on the phone while holding her dog in a place where the dog doesn’t belong wonderfully represents what Boca Rudeton is all about. Not only does she have a dog in a restaurant, but she’s so disinterred in the people she’s eating with that she’s yapping away on her phone for the whole restaurant to hear.
Readers of Boca Rudeton know that we don’t really give prizes, but if we did, it would be this wonderful set of two dog phone toys. One for the woman, and the other for the dog. (If you want to buy these yourself for just $8.49, please use our affiliate link for Amazon).
We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the menu buttons above. Every time we come to Florida I am constantly amazed at the number of people who completely ignore the laws about dogs in restaurants and supermarkets! I shop frequently at that Doris’s and have seen dogs on their hind legs with their front paws a nose IN the produce! IT is NOT okay!! If it’s too hot to leave your dog in the car, then LEAVE IT AT HOME!! We are from Massachusetts and in 70+ years have NEVER seen this law violated so blatantly! (Or so frequently!)
It’s about time store and restaurant managers started enforcing the statutes properly!
Did anyone ever die or get sick if there was a Dog in a grocery store or a restaurant?
Follow the law.
Are you law enforcement? Apparently the employees in these stores don’t care or follow their own rules so why do YOU constantly post this stuff. Do you have nothing better to do?????
I was thinking the same thing. And apparently the stores have no problem with it or else the employees would say something but this rag of a paper is clearly bothered by this. What’s worse is the pictures of people’s cars? Are they wrong? Some yes but to post their license plate numbers is an invasion of privacy. Let the cops handle them. What is wrong with you BocaNewsNow? Why does this stuff bother you so much that you post like a yenta? If it’s not hurting YOU and the employees aren’t stopping these people why are YOU so bothered?
Hey Gerri. We care the long term residents of the area who don’t have rude NE behavior and park wherever and don’t follow rules and signs and disgusting individuals who force others who are allergic to have their pets violate state laws !! It’s illegal so you get it. Great for the paper to expose
People with dog allergies shouldn’t have to worry about shopping and going to restaurants. I love my dogs dearly but they stay home as they should.
Some people may have a serious allergic reaction to dogs and some people and children have a fear of animals. The law is the law for a reason.
Dee, that’s not the point and probably the dumbest response I’ve ever read in here! Are you that demented to actually write such a comment? Seriously, you must have some kind of mental issue to see that breaking the law is o k…dogs do not belong in restaurants or supermarkets…got that!
It doesn’t matter. It is not sanitary and it is the law.
When the store managers start throwing people with dogs out this will stop.
If the person doesn’t comply peacefully, call the police.
Laws are only effective when enforced.
I LOVE DOGS , but they do not belong in grocery stores , restaurants or medical offices.
Call the cops and report these people. Let the law handle them esp. parking princess. Looks like her health could use a few extra steps.
Person who left their dog chained to chair/table at Whole Foods, Uptown location should be tarred and feathered at noon time in July. Poor dog was scared and shaking from fright while owner was doing who knows what?! Fine the stores if they refuse to act on these Rudetons!
I blame the store managers for not enforcing the rules. The health department should start issuing fines to the stores and watch what happens. Dog owners who ignore the law are partly to blame, but enforcement starts at stores’ front door.
Judgement day is not today, and you are not the judge. Live your life and let others be.
Stupid response there. You sound like such an entitled jerk to even write this! But coming from someone who probably lives in Boca, not surprised one bit. Trust me hon, you are nothing special! Sure hope you have not reproduced any spawn!
Personally, I see nothing wrong with taking dogs into stores or sitting outside of restaurants. It’s been a way of life in Europe for many years and widely accepted. Boca News seems to like making rude comments about Boca residents. As representatives of this community, they are actually being as offensive as some of those they cite in their pettiness. As far illegal and poor parking, isn’t it the responsibility of law enforcement to point out the infractions? It isn’t really the job of Boca News, is it?
Why not focus on real news issues rather than trying to aggravate readers?
GE we are NOT part of Europe in fact we (meaning me and you) actually live in the USA and our laws differ such as PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN STORES ONLY AND ONLY SERVICE ANIMALS THAT ARE LEGALLY REGISTERED. Move to Europe believe me you won’t be missed.
Yes GE, do us all a favor and move to Europe. Trust me, entitled folks like yourself will not be missed…one bit!
You can tell the difference between service animals and pets. Service animals are never held in anyone’s arms. They don’t wander around. They stay at the handlers side. Most of the animals seen in establishments are NOT service animals. The owners are just saying they are service animals. It’s the responsibility of the store owners to enforce the law. Prohibit them from coming in……..oh wait they might lose some business…….that’s the problem. The owners don’t want to take a stand a lose money. I get it. No one wants to lose money but sometimes we have to make those hard decisions. They law is the law
