FOUR CARS INVOLVED. INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The fatal crash Monday on North Federal Highway near Jeffrey Street involved four vehicles — including a tow truck. Boca Raton PD released details, and the names of those involved, Tuesday afternoon:
>> The Boca Raton Police Services Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal crash which occurred along the 5800 block of N Federal Highway on August 18, 2025 just before 12:30 p.m. A 2020 Jeep Cherokee, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and a 2010 Ford Escape were stopped northbound in the right lane due to traffic from the red light at Jeffrey Street.
A 2014 Hino Tow truck was traveling northbound on N Federal Highway and the driver failed to recognize that traffic was stopped in front of him. The truck collided with the rear of the Ford Escape, which pushed forward and collided with the rear of the Hyundai Elantra, which pushed forward and collided with the rear of the Jeep Cherokee. The driver of the Ford Escape was pronounced deceased on scene.
The two occupants of the Hyundai Elantra were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. If you have information about this crash, please contact Officer Williams at (561) 982-4052. <<

JEEP DRIVER: Cristina Vargas, 36, of Boca Raton.
