PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 73-year-old woman suffered a medical event and died, then crashed into a car Friday night, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Lexi Flores of Northern Lights Drive in Greenacres was pronounced dead a short time after the 8:30 p.m. incident.
Investigators say Flores was driving her 2024 Honda SUV westbound within the inside lane of Nautica Isles Boulevard (west of Military Trail, north of Lantana Road) approaching the entry way guard house. At the same time, a driver in a 2017 Lexus SUV was heading the same way, in front of Flores. As the two vehicles continued in the same direction, police say Flores suffered a medical event, “and became unconscious, and was no longer in control of (her vehicle).”
Police say Flores, “continued traveling at a very slow speed while drifting slightly to the northwest when it impacted the rear of (the Lexus). During the collision, the left front of the Honda impacted the right rear of the Lexus. Minimal damage occurred.”
The driver of the Lexus immediately stopped, then went to check on Flores and found her unconscious. Paramedics rushed to the scene and transported Flores to JFK Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. Police say Flores had a history of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and sleep apnea. Her cause of death was considered to be “medical in nature.”
