UPDATE at 10:05 p.m. — The plane just left Savannah according to passengers. The flight attendant remains hospitalized and apparently was complaining of a severe headache with symptoms that led medical professionals to tell the pilot to land the plane.

UPDATE: As of 3 p.m., passengers tell BocaNewsNow.com that JetBlue is bringing in a new crew to get the stranded passengers back to Palm Beach International Airport. That crew won’t arrive until this evening. The flight is now expected to leave Savannah around 9 p.m., landing at PBI around 10:22 p.m.

SAVANNAH, GA (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A JetBlue flight enroute from Newark to Palm Beach International Airport just made an emergency landing in Savannah. Sources on the plane say a flight attendant became seriously ill to the point that the pilot declared an emergency and landed the plane.

The flight attendant was seen being removed from the plane on a stretcher by paramedics and placed in an ambulance. Police were also on the scene.

While JetBlue corporate communications did not respond immediately to a request for more information, passengers on the plane say the pilot has announced an ‘extended’ delay, saying the plane can not fly without four flight attendants on board. Another crew member will have to be transported to — or rerouted in— Savannah before the flight can depart.

JetBlue flight 2143 departed Newark at 11:01 and was supposed to arrive at PBI around 1:52 p.m.
