Says Kirk Is “Rejoicing With Our Lord In Heaven.”
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis Thursday ordered flags to Half-Staff on Sunday to honor slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The following is the official statement issued by Governor DeSantis’ Office:
“It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, a Christian conservative public figure and prominent media personality. In 2012, Charlie co-founded Turning Point USA to promote conservative values and open dialogue among the youth of America. As one of the most prominent voices of his time, Charlie worked to help spark conversations that would engage millions of young Americans in civic life and challenge them to articulate their values.
He was widely recognized for his leadership and influence in the political landscape and was admired by many prominent figures, including President Donald Trump. Charlie was a strong man of God as well as a husband and a father, and he is now rejoicing with our Lord in Heaven.
President Donald Trump has directed all flags to be lowered to half-staff immediately. Pursuant to this direction and in honor of Charlie’s memory, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida immediately until sunset on Sunday, September 14, 2025.”

I truly feel sorry for you. I get it, you would much rather support your narrative than pursuing truth. I hope you one day actually read the Bible and attempt to understand why it is the best set of books ever written.
The book was written to help you live a good life. Life is very difficult and kudos to you for being that 1% that has it all together.
I would also add that yes, nefarious folks have used the Bible for nefarious reasons and there have obviously been very bad human beings associated with Christianity. For Charlue Kirk I will speak my mind. It is a terrible day in America when a young man with a family is assassinated for debating ideas in the public square at a college He is not forcing anything on anyone. He is honoring a life horribly taken. I would want this for any influencial political person on the left or right, who was assassinated for free speech.

John F. Kennedy was assassinated for saying what’s right. I do feel sorry for killing a young man with a family.
Why the word “Christian” is written in quotation marks? This opens the gate for a bad impression. If you quote, then mark the entire sentence, not just one word, especially such a meaningful word. No matter the agreement with someone’s vision, murder should not be a reason to mock anything about the victim.
(1) It does not matter that he had a family. George Floyd had a family, and Charlie Kirk ridiculed him after his murder.
(2) Charlie Kirk stated that if his 9 year old daughter became pregnant from rape, he would force her to carry the child to term.
(3) In June, Minnesota House Speaker, Melissa Hortman, was assassinated in her home, alongside her husband and their dog. Trump and the GOP did not demand that flags be put to half mast in her honor, because her political views did not align with theirs.
(4) Charlie Kirk believed that if innocent people had to die to keep the 2nd Amendment intact, then those causalities are worth it. If your child was shot and killed while at school, Charlie Kirk would not have cared. He would have viewed your child’s death as a necessary casualty.
(5) When Nancy Pelosi’s husband was brutally beaten by a right-wing fanatic, Charlie Kirk encouraged his fanbase to donate to the attacker.
Charlie Kirk was a victim of gun violence, and he was against any and all gun reform. It is nothing short of ironic that after disregarding the impact and horror of school shootings, he was shot and killed at a school.

Charles…All you have to do is search the internet regarding Charlie Kirk to see his vitriol. He was a very good man in his personal life, everyone should condemn violence, and feel his loss to his family. In his professional life he was a creep. He debased everyone and everything that he could. He was a bigot, a racist, a misogynist, a sexist, and lacked any form of empathy.

Sure. Because if the elected governor is going to honor someone and states their religion as a contributing factor, it’s appropriate to quote the Governor’s words. We don’t recall the Governor issuing a press release to honor a Jewish liberal.

What if it was a Jewish conservative had gotten shot, or a Hindu conservative, would the governor have announced his religion and said they are now in heaven with God. Knowing his young l, still developing mind, I would say no. Right now he’s stuck. As he grows he’ll move on.
I don’t ever remember DeSantis defining anyone that’s a Jew, Hindu, Muslim or any other religious sect by their faith. Does this fool not understand the disrespect he demonstrates since he, to my knowledge, has never defined someone from another faith in this manner? Probably not.
While I don’t condone violence and upset he was shot- BUT-You are all making a martyr of a racist, bigot who believed in only a white world. Really? What about Sen. Melissa H – murdered in her bed along w/ her husband. Not worthy cause she is a democrat? Divisiveness is not going to solve this nations problems. I’m not a Republican or a Democrat, but I have to say I am truly disgusted by most democrat’s behavior after Kirk’s death. The disrespect and lack of empathy from the media, celebrities and the general public just show how this country is morally dead.
