We want your thoughts on free speech, on President Trump’s handling of Kirk’s murder, and whether both parties are contradicting themselves…

UPDATE: It is now revealed that alleged assassin Tyler Robinson is not registered with a political party, and his parents are registered Republicans.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — To be clear: we believe free speech is vital and violence is bad. That being said, we are asking you to share your thoughts on what seems to be the contradictory commentary of President Donald Trump and other leaders on both sides of the aisle following the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was in the business of being controversial. Among his most controversial comments as cataloged by the Daily Mail (link below): He spoke out against gays. Against Martin Luther King. Against Civil Rights. He had million dollars homes in Arizona and Florida. The business of controversy for the 31-year-old was good. He knew how to stir people up and — like Morton Downey Jr. back in the 80s — he got lots of attention. But in the 80s, people seemed to know what was an act and what was real. In 2025, when Kirk spoke — like so many ultra conservative and ultra liberal activists — many heard it not as an act, but as a calling.
We are asking you, our readers, to share your thoughts on these questions: Why is it okay for Charlie Kirk to speak out strongly against transgender rights, civil rights, Martin Luther King, even black airline pilots, but it’s not okay for Palestinian Americans to hold protests on college campuses? Why is President Trump using the Oval Office to honor Kirk, but did not do the same when Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman — a democrat — was shot and killed? Why did Vice President Vance transport Kirk’s body on a government airplane, but did not fly to Pennsylvania when someone tried to burn down the Governor’s mansion — where Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro lives? Why is an X post from Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana threatening free speech still online, but an MSNBC analyst who correctly said that words can have repercussions is fired?
We want you to share your thoughts, below. We ask that you do what so many seem to have a problem doing now — show respect to those who disagree with your point of view. But let us know where you stand on free speech and on what seems to be very contradictory messaging from both parties in the aftermath of Charlie Kirk’s murder. (Link to Daily Mail list of outrageous comments and claims).

Violence is *never* justified in politics. Period ! Even though Charlie Kirk himself disagreed with this viewpoint in public. Kirk was a radicalized, anti-American, far-right white christian nationalist, and paid political propaganda operative for billionaires and gun makers, who was very well-known for his controversial targeting, recruitment and indoctrination of children from middle and high schools, as well as his extensive college recruitment operation and tactics, which spread his sickening message of MAGA hatred, intolerance and fear throughout all corners of our great nation.. He will not be missed by the majority of Americans.
Thank you for bringing up Palestinians. Those who were horrified by the graphic videos of Charlie Kirk’s death have not seen the footage coming from Gaza over the last two years. I have seen videos of parents carrying the bodies of their maimed and dismembered children. I have seen doctors and aid works targeted and assassinated. Leftists are not “celebrating” the death of Charlie Kirk. We have grown numb and tired. We have been told that gun violence is a necessary part of the honoring the 2nd Amendment. If the image of Charlie Kirk’s neck gushing blood triggers you, imagine what it was like for the students and teachers of Stoneman Douglas, Sandy Hook, Annunciation Catholic School, Covenant School, Robb Elementary School, Virginia Tech, Red Lake High School, Oxford High School, Michigan State, Columbine, Santa Fe High School, UCSB, West Nickel Mines School, Oikos University, Northern Illinois University, Rancho Tehama Elementary School, Marysville Pilchuck High School, Thurston High School, University of Nevada, and Apalachee High School.
If you are more incensed by the violence against Charlie Kirk than you are by the deaths of children, that speaks to your character. What you choose to stand for matters. If you stand against violence, then stand against ALL violence, not just violence that affects those with your mindset. If you were disappointed that Kirk was not killed by a leftist, but instead by someone who shares similar ideologies to yourself, then I hope you take the time to reflect inward on why you wanted it to by the people who you deem to be “bad.”
I, for one, cannot care that Charlie Kirk was killed. I don’t celebrate it, but I care more about the Palestinian genocide, the immigrants being disappeared from this country without due process, the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his ilk, the the constant fear of mass shooting because no one with any power wants to stand against gun violence.
When they showed the image of the suspect with hat and sunglasses I thought it was a clone of Charlie Kirk. They resemble each other. Brother killing brother as if in a civil war.
Your statements about Charlie are lies. He speaks about people in his rational debates but never speaks against people. I challenge you to find and post videos that back up your claims. As Charlie would say “prove me wrong”!
If you don’t understand that Palestinian protests were PHYSICALLY threatening to Jewish students on campus, you should just delete your website and move on.
Charlie Kirk was an honest, smart man who through his many talks was educating our youth! He challenged their logical thinking like no other!
The Palestinian people here in the USA have no first amendment rights because they are not US citizens!! They stand for violence only and should not have a voice here! Can Americans go there to their country to protest?!?!? We all know that answer!!
Well said! The description of boca news is so far from all the conversations I’ve watched …. disingenuous
Well said!! 👍🏻👍🏻
As a Palestinian American I’ve been asking this question for years. Why are we not allowed to question Israel’s policies towards Palestinians? Why aren’t we allowed to have supporters? I was born and raised here but I’ve never felt less welcomed in this country.
Meanwhile this scumbag Kirk gets the presidential medal? Flags lowered?
You are permitted and welcome to ask questions and have supporters. You are not welcome to cause damage or harm to people or property. You are welcome to go to colleges, events, etc where you are invited to speak and offer up your beliefs.Calling a man a scumbag because he disagrees with you (and me) is helping to incite violence.
We welcome you. We do not welcome terrorizing behaviors .
Speaking out is speaking out
Palestinian protests and not allowing Jewish people into school or threatening them is more than speaking out. It is physical and discriminatory and dangerous. Have you seen what was done to people in Israel October, 2024? Have you ever seen The pictures of the holocaust?
You equate Bringing home a body from an assassination with a property fire.?
You are stirring up additional hate. I certainly didn’t agree with most of Kirk’s views, but I certainly would condemn him completely if he set up a tent city and prevented people from access to schools, parks, streets, buildings, etc. He was a talker, listener and speaker, not a terrorist.
You are a BLIND liberal We can’t believe as a Jewish person living and making a living in Boca that you don’t get it!
And for such the liberal you are, you make fun and discriminate the poor, handicapped, ill, unfortunate people in kings point. Why haven’t you helped them with social services like other liberals? Stick to reporting on the accidents, drunks, etc in your bridges neighborhood.
Or the BOCA RUDETON. Maybe there you can make a difference!
You probably won’t print this
Silly question.. Charlie Kirk was not part of a group of savage murderers. Kirk did not and is not holding Israeli civilians hostage – starving and in many cases killing them. Kirk did not go on campus and intimidate Jewish students and faculty and prevent them from movement as if they were 2nd class citizens. As said before.. truly an infantile question to pose
“Why is it okay for Charlie Kirk to speak out strongly against transgender rights, civil rights, Martin Luther King, even black airline pilots, but it’s not okay for Palestinian Americans to hold protests on college campuses?”
I’m not familiar with Kirk’s opinions, but I’ll assume for the sake of argument that your allegation is accurate.
However, IMO, it IS okay for Palestinian Americans to hold protests on college campuses. What’s NOT okay, however, is for Palestinians and others who aren’t Americans, but who are here only on student visas, to disrupt classes and/or threaten the safety of Jewish students.
When Charlie Kirk spoke at colleges and universities he never blocked other people’s access to buildings! He never smashed windows! He never held people hostage on a campus! He never destroyed property belonging to others! He never shouted people down! He did engage people in civil debate and respected their right to their opinion no matter how wrong they were! Your attempt to equivalence between Kirk’s appearances on various campuses and the violent actions of thousands of violent rioters is way off base!
I knew that yesterday’s column you wrote was a fluke. You actually showed a little unbiased journalism for once and even some compassion for someone with conservative values. But then comes along today and you don’t disappoint. You’re back to your same biased hateful articles. And doing exactly what Charlie Kirk was against, which is bickering and complaining about others who don’t share your viewpoint, without sitting down face-to-face, and having civilized conversations about each one’s views.
You and your fellow media cohorts are the main contributors to the underlying cause of violence in this country. Look at what happened when George Floyd died. He committed 6 burglaries, 3 car thefts, ongoing cocaine and alcohol addiction, committed 2 violent home invasions, 3 armed robberies, dealing Fentanyl and Meth, passing counterfeit money, beating 4 victims senseless and being arrested 23 times since 1998. What did you do when this POS died? You liberals rioted, burned down buildings, and looted businesses while killing 25 people in the process. You in the media called it “Peaceful Protests”! Now look at the response from conservatives all around our nation when a conservative dies while trying to bring together people to discuss their differences…….PRAYER!
So now you want to know the difference between free speech on campuses by terrorists and their “useful idiot” supporters, and what Charlie Kirk stood for? If you have to ask something so asinine you should crawl back in the hole that you came out of, because you are so oblivious to what is right and what is wrong in this world!
Additionally, to most of you democrats, who have no common sense, and cry continuously about having gun control, think about this: If guns kill people then, Pencils misspell words, Cars drive drunk, and Spoons make people fat!
Kirk was a brilliant young man. An excellent debater who always respected the person he was talking to.
People that believe in god even if they not religious knows he right.
What’s the comparison between a young American man debating American issues to Palestinians people? It’s not American problem and if no reason for any group of people to protest their country’s issues on our campuses.
It’s Florida. You’re a little blue for this state 😉
While I am sorry for his family, I will not mourn for Charlie. He has fomented hate, distrust and showed lack of empathy. Unfortunately the act will make him a hero or martyr in the minds of the ultra conservatives who agree with the hate that he spewed. It is so hypocritical to disallow protests against the genocide taking place in Gaza while eulogizing Charlie.
I disagreed with Charlie Kirk almost across the board. He was a deeply religious man (which I am not), and his entire world view was shaped by his faith. So it’s no surprise that I did not agree with him on most points.
However, despite not agreeing with many of his views, I respected his approach to life, and primarily his dedication to free speech and dialogue. Violence and hatred is not something he ever advocated for and suggesting so is literal slander.
If Palestinian protestors (as ignorant as they may be) followed this same path of dialogue (they can’t as their position is morally bankrupt), then they should indeed have every right to protest.
But they did not simply protest, they disrupted school activities and threatened and attacked jewish students and faculty. Their “speech” is also often actually violent in nature, as they regularly call for the eradication of the Jewish state and it’s people.
And that’s before mentioning how “Palestinians” hate us (you) and all we stand for.
So no, there is no equivalency between Palestinian protestors and Charlie Kirk. That is just about the worst comparison that could possibly be made.
Furthermore, the way leftists openly celebrated his murder was eerily reminiscent of how muslims (and leftists) around the world openly celebrated the barbaric actions of Palestinians of October 7th. Acts which they later themselves denied as hoaxes.
A lot of people have shown the rot in their souls and character over the past few days, and I hope god/karma has mercy on all your souls.
Low IQ in this area moving outta here
