BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Florida Atlantic University Professor Rebel Cole is facing new backlash Tuesday after seeming to threaten students who exercised free speech following the murder of conservative provocateur Charlie Kirk. The students — and other posters — who suggested Kirk’s murder was anything but horrific, were told they would be found and personally destroyed.
“We are going to hunt you down,” wrote Professor Cole on X. “We are going to identify you. Then we are going to make you radioactive to polite society. And we will make you both unemployed and unemployable.”
Cole is no stranger to controversy. He routinely promoted anti-COVID vaccine conspiracy theories during the COVID pandemic. Florida Atlantic University did not discipline Cole. It is controlled by a Board of Trustees which is majority-controlled by appointees of Florida’s Anti-Vaxxing Governor Ron DeSantis.
FAU did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Cole’s latest post. Professor Cole also did not immediately respond to a request for comment. He is listed as the “Lynn Eminent Scholar Chaired Professor of Finance at the College of Business of Florida Atlantic University” on his official biography.
FAU, however, did not hesitate to issue a statement after a Women’s Studies Professor was suspended for allegedly posting a comment unfavorable to Charlie Kirk following his murder.

It is unfortunate that you call him Toxic without watching any of his interactions with the students.
He treated the students like his own children/friends. Charlie would not allow any heckling from the crowd just because the person had a difference of opinion.

Professor is right, even if strident from his understandable anger. These kids are full of hatred and don’t belong in polite society.
So threaten them? If you think that’s appropriate, you should be barred from working in a position of authority of any kind because you are clinically insane and a danger to society. Disgusting.
FAU should fire this professor for threatening students. We see in the news about professors and educators being fired/suspended for ‘celebrating’ the killing of Kirk, this threatening of students or others is obviously likewise wrong and needs to be addressed immediately by the administration.

Generally speaking its wonderful to see mentally unhinged anti-Kirk people lose their jobs and livelihoods and get ‘cancelled’ the same way these mutts went after Conservatives during the draconian Biden years. They now must be forced to shush up too.. And just because this Professor was anti-Covid vax, doesn’t make him pro-Trump – certainly not based on his text.
While I certainly don’t condone what he posted, it’s still potatoes compared to cancel culture the left has facilitated over the last ten years, over free speech that isn’t remotely close to what they classify hate speech territory. Sorry, but you never had the moral high ground to saber rattle about how the right is allegedly more violent than the left. Not after two attempts on Trump’s life, and certainly not after what happened last week.
This geriatric clown needs a reality check. It’s hilarious how upset conservatives are over this Kirk guy who did not give a flying f about dead kids. His death was poetic and warranted.
